Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is recovering after a health scare during a concert with the Hollywood Vampires in Brooklyn yesterday (July 10th 2016), where he had to leave the stage early on when it was clear that he was feeling unwell. Frontman Alice Cooper has shared an update on his condition.

Witnesses took to Twitter and Facebook to tell how Perry appeared to take a turn for the worst during the second song of the Vampires' Brooklyn set, a cover of Spirit's 'I Got a Line On You'. In fan footage, he is seen sitting down near the drum kit while clearly struggling to play, before getting up and making his way backstage where he was allegedly treated by medics. The other members including Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp continued playing.

'Thanks to everyone asking about our brother Joe Perry', Alice Cooper said on Twitter. 'He is stable right now, with family and is under the best care.' A statement was also issued on the band's official page with a similar sentiment. 'Joe Perry is stable and resting. His brother Vampires and fans wish him a speedy recovery', it read.

Cooper also addressed the crowd at the Coney Island Amphitheater regarding 65-year-old Perry's absence according to Facebook fan account AeroFANatic, explaining that Perry was feeling unwell even before the show. ABC News reported that he was taken to hospital to be checked over before being transferred to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.

The Hollywood Vampires are due to perform their next show tomorrow (July 12th 2016) at Fraze Pavilion in Kettering, Ohio. They also have two shows in Michigan and one in Wisconsin this week, and while there's nothing as of yet to suggest any of them will be cancelled, Perry may not be in a fit enough state to join them. Plus, they also have a scheduled live appearance on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' tonight.
