The Grammy winning singer-songwriter who shot to number one with his self-titled debut album in 2014 which featured the stellar hit 'Take Me to Church' has taken up a new venture in the form of a movie soundtrack. 'Better Love', co-produced by Rob Kirwan at London's Abbey Road Studios, will feature alongside Rupert Gregson-Williams' score for 'The Legend of Tarzan'. The soundtrack also features a track from South African singer Zoe Mthiyane entitled 'Opar'.

'I was excited about the opportunity and the challenge of writing for this film project', Hozier said in a statement. 'After viewing an early edit, I was struck by the theme of endurance, and endurance of love through such a hostile environment. I wanted the song to be an intimate reassurance as spoken from one lover to another-one that might be issued in hardship or doubt'.

The song is typical Hozier style; piano accompaniment with heavy drums and soaring vocals, and it's even been released alongside a video featuring the singer playing piano in a darkened room between tense and emotional clips from the movie.

Not that there's much of the film that isn't tense and emotional. Starring Alexander Skarsgård, 'The Legend of Tarzan' follows a man's return to the jungle after years of integrating into regular human society when he fell in love with his now wife Jane. He's been asked to negotiate trade agreements in Congo, but really he is being used by a corrupt organisation that may seek to destory his home forever.

'The Legend of Tarzan' will be released in theatres on July 1st 2016.
