If you have ever seen them together off the set of 'Logan', you will know that Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart make very great friends indeed. After working together on the 'X-Men' and 'Wolverine' films for seventeen years, they have developed quite the bond - a chemistry obvious in their latest film 'Logan'.

'Logan' may well be the last time Hugh and Patrick play their respective roles of Wolverine and Professor X, and that only made this third and final Wolverine movie all the more intense. These characters are facing troubles they've never had before as age finally catches up with them - a factor that both the actors can relate to as they hang up their X-Men boots.

'Charles Xavier, who's been a father figure [and] mentor, probably understands and knows [Logan] best', Hugh explains. 'Charles knows where he comes from, knows his background and knows the demons he's fighting... In this [film], the tables have turned a bit because he has dementia. He's confused and he's vulnerable and he's angry... and Logan is in that carer role.'

For such an intimate and harrowing storyline, Hugh was glad to be working with the legend that is Patrick Stewart again. 'It was great fun to play [Logan] with my great friend, one of the great actors I've ever met', he adds.

Hugh Jackman has one more film to come this year in the form of the carnival biopic 'The Greatest Showman' in which he stars alongside Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson, Zac Efron and Zendaya as the celebrated circus ringleader P.T. Barnum. Patrick Stewart will also star in the Damian Harris comedy 'Wilde Wedding' with Glenn Close, and he's currently filming for the animated 'The Emoji Movie' in which he lends his voice to the character Poop.

'Logan' is in movie theatres now.
