The former British TV star was found guilty of indecently assaulting two teenage boys while he worked as a teacher in the mid-1970s at the conclusion of his trial last month (Feb15), during which Stone Roses star Brown appeared as a prosecution witness.

Judge Timothy Mort passed down the five-year sentence at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court in England on Friday (13Feb15), telling Talbot, "You deliberately and indecently assaulted the two of them for your own gratification."

The 65 year old had previously been cleared of eight other counts of indecent assault.

Brown was not among Talbot's accusers, but the musician spoke out about his experiences with his former teacher while a pupil at the school in Greater Manchester, England.
