Iggy Azalea has officially pulled the plug on her ‘Great Escape Tour’ which had been due to kick off in September after it was originally delayed last month. The rapper took to Twitter to formally addressed the tour’s cancellation, telling fans she was sorry for letting them down.

‘As u may know, the tour is cancelled. I'm so sad and sorry to let my fans down...we'll be back out on the road when the next album is done,’ Azalea told fans on Friday vis twitter. The tour, which would have been Azalea’s first time playing arenas, was due begin on September 18th in San Diego.

Ticket holders were first notified that the shows were off in an email sent out on Friday morning which read, "The Iggy Azalea Great Escape Tour scheduled for this fall has been cancelled and refunds are available at point of purchase. There will be a new tour planned around Iggy's new record to be released in 2016 and we apologise for any inconvenience.”

Although the full tour is off, Azalea did ensure her fans that she’d be playing at a handful of events this summer including Pittsburgh Pride, Ottawa Bluesfest, Québec Summer Festival and the Washington State Fair. But Azalea is yet to give an actually reason as to why the discussion was made to scrap the tour completely.

The tour’s cancellation shouldn't come as too big a surprise to the rapper’s fans as it has been plagued with problems since it was announced last December. In March Azalea revealed the tour has been postponed until the fall telling AMP Radio, "It is bumped back because I am a psychopath – it's my first arena tour, so it's a big undertaking and I'm doing a lot of the creative direction.”

At the time Azalea’s reps had also released a statement saying, "To accommodate for creative team availability and tour production plans, it was determined that the tour will not be ready this spring…The tour getting pushed back only means that it'll be way more amazing than it would've been in April. Good things take time.”
