The popular author, who sold more than 500 million copies of her books throughout her career, had written a play, titled Jackie Collins: Hollywood Lies, which she hoped would be turned into a successful theatre production.

New York Post columnist Michael Riedel reports Collins sent him the script to review last year (14), but plans to take the show to the stage stalled.

The play tells the story of a troubled young pop star with addiction issues whose attempted comeback is derailed when a body is discovered in her swimming pool.

Collins died on Saturday (19Sep15) after a battle with breast cancer.
