Seriously, James Corden? Every single episode of 'Carpool Karaoke' seems to top the one before it, no matter how difficult it is to fathom that possibility. I mean, who's he going to bring in to top his latest guests the Red Hot Chili Peppers?

James CordenJames Corden invites Red Hot Chili Peppers along for a Los Angeles drive

The Red Hot Chili Peppers brought the most entertaining rendition of 'The Late Late Show''s most-loved segment 'Carpool Karaoke' so far. Not only did we get to hear the band sing along to some of their best hits including 'Californication', 'Dark Necessities' and 'Under The Bridge', but we also got to see frontman Anthony Kiedis and James Corden have a wrestling match and go topless with Flea.

The topless thing doesn't come as too much of a surprise, but we had no idea that Kiedis had become such an accomplished wrestler during touring downtime. Apparently neither did Corden before he challenged the singer to a match on someone's front lawn in Los Angeles, and promptly lost. 'You destroyed me! I didn't even realise what level I was at then!' Said an abashed Corden.

Another random moment came when Flea followed up a chorus of 'Give It Away' with 'Food Glorious Food' from the musical 'Oliver'; a surprise given that he hardly sings during the segment at all, preferring to beatbox the bassline.

3 Things We Learnt About The Red Hot Chili Peppers On 'Carpool Karaoke':

1. Kiedis and Flea wrote a song called 'Heemi Leemi' when they were 15... and they still know the words - 'We were 15-years-old sleeping on a rock out in the woods, smoking large quantities of marijuana, hiking through the Sierra Nevada mountain range, and we wrote 'Heemi Leemi'', Flea explained. They even gave us a little snippet of the lost ditty, which honestly sounds like The BFG teaming up with Howard Moon and Vince Noir of The Mighty Boosh.

2. Chad Smith witnessed the most rock 'n' roll fight ever - Asked what was the most rock 'n' roll thing they'd ever seen or experienced, Smith had the ultimate story. 'We played a festival in Holland many years ago, and out in the crowd I saw two guys having a fight with their prosthetic legs', he recalled. 'One had a shoe on and the other one didn't. It was very Dutch rock.'

3. Kiedis once spied on Cher - So apparently, Cher (as in THE Cher) babysat Kiedis a few times when he was a kid, including one time when he was on the cusp of adolescence. '[I was] 12-years-old. When you're 12 you don't know how old adults are but she was fit and fine, I knew that', he said. 'I had just hit that hormonal plateau. We hung out, I slept in her bed, I actually watched her through the crack of the bathroom door getting ready for bed.' Unfortunately, Cher doesn't remember a thing about it, which is just as well really. 'I asked her [about it] and she was like, 'What are you talking about?' He added.
