British chart-topper James Morrison changed his name when he became a singer, but he insists he was not inspired by late The Doors frontman Jim Morrison. The UNDISCOVERED singer/songwriter was born JAMES CATCHPOLE, but he decided to use his middle name - Morrison - when he took to the stage. He says, "I get jokes about my name - about being the new Jim Morrison. I don't care, though, as I don't like The Doors and James Morrison isn't even my name - it's James Catchpole and Morrison is my middle name. "But I hate my surname and it's not great for the music world." Morrison is currently number one on the UK albums chart with his debut LP.
