British chef Jamie Oliver has announced he's finished his first book: Suzanne Collins' Catching Fire. The chef, who has written over twenty cookery books, has never previously completed an entire book before. He said in an interview his dyslexia has always prevented him from finishing a book.

Oliver has not gone down the traditional route of reading the trilogy of books in order. That would be far too conventional but has instead started with the second of the three. We'd like to presume the cook had listened to the first novel or at least seen the film to get the general gist.

Suzanne Collins' first Hunger Games novel, published in 2008, was hugely successful. The Hunger Games was made into a 2012 film starring Jennifer Laurence as Katniss a young woman who takes the place of her sister in a fight to the death. The book is set in a near future North America where, in order for each area or 'district' to acquire food and privileges for the following year, two of their young people are forced to compete in a game of survival. There can be only one winner.

Catching Fire is the second novel in The Hunger Games trilogy with Mockingjay as its conclusion. Oliver praised Collins' novel and his reading experience saying "I loved disappearing into a story."

The Catching Fire movie is due to be released in UK and US cinemas on 22nd November 2013. The third in the trilogy, Mockingjay, is due to be released sometime next year.

So what's next for 38-year-old Oliver? Tolstoy's War and Peace or maybe some classic British literature perhaps: Austen, Hardy or perhaps Orwell? Or will Oliver stick with The Hunger Games Trilogy - maybe even reading the first book?

Whatever he chooses, congratulations to Jamie Oliver on his achievement!
