Last month actress Jane Lynch announced that her relationship with Lara Embry had run its course, and unfortunately, this week, the news was made official. Lynch filed the divorce papers at LA County Court, citing irreconcilable differences, according to a report by TMZ.

The comedienne's divorce is officially undervay.

"Lara and I have decided to end our marriage," Lynch said in a statement to Us in June. "This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter."

According to the documents, Lynch and Embry have been separated since this February, after nearly three years of marriage. Lynch has moved out of the marital home in Laurel Canyon, L.A. The couple met in 2009 at a gala for the National Center for Lesbian Rights. They got married in Sunderland, Massachusetts less than a year later, in June of 2010.

The pair have asked the public to respect their privacy during the difficult time.

Now comes the tricky business of arranging the legal matters around the split. Since Lynch and Embry do not have a prenuptial agreement, the couple’s assets will be split 50/50 between the two. However, Lynch is reportedly filing to terminate the court’s jurisdiction to award Embry spousal support. The couple share no children together, although Embry does have two daughters from a previous relationship.
