Derulo’s crew was removed from a Southwest Airlines flight on Saturday.
Singer Jason Derulo has said he’s ‘fired’ his travel agent following an incident over the weekend where his crew was kicked off a flight from Reno to Los Angeles. According to reports his entourage were removed form the Southwest Airlines flight following one member’s altercation with an employee.
Singer Jason Derulo had some travel problems over the weekend.
Speaking to People an insider said, "His team requested an escort and were denied and they believed the were being treated unfairly. When they voiced their concerns to the airline they were told they could not fly and proceeded on the plane anyway.’
‘At that point the Southwest agent called the authorities and removed them,’ the source added. The singer himself was still allowed to travel on the flight but decided not to, instead opting for a private jet.
'Jason got off and they proceeded to get a private jet so that he would not miss his gig,' the source told People 'He paid out of his own pocket.'
In a video posted on his Instagram account on Saturday night Derulo addressed the incident saying, "I had to fire my travel agent for booking me somewhere I wasn't supposed to be. But now we're here, we're good." The video was filmed onboard the private jet where Derulo's friend can also be heard saying, "They can't kick me off of this!"
A spokesperson for Southwest Airlines told People that Derulo’s crew was removed because they refused to follow boarding procedures and that other customers had complained. ‘According to our employees, the group refused to follow boarding procedures,' the spokesperson said.
‘Initial reports indicate that several customers complained about the group's behaviour…The group sought alternate transportation and their tickets were refunded,’ the rep added.
