Jason Momoa claims nobody will be laughing after seeing him play Aquaman in the upcoming film, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Momoa was at a fan expo in Canada over the weekend when he was asked how he feels about Aquaman being the constant butt of superhero jokes. His response implies we’re not going to see a ‘fish man’ but something very different and much deadlier.

“You know, it's cute and funny,” Momoa said of the jokes, as CinemaBlend reports. “I mean people make fun of him and there's a bunch of jokes about him. But I'm like 'Well... just wait. Let's just wait a little bit. And then we can make jokes...”

Momoa also revealed he has drawn on some of the traits of characters he has played in the past for his role as Aquaman. The 36-year-old Hawaiian born actor has played some pretty fearsome characters, including Game of Thrones’ Khal Drogo and Conan the Barbarian, so we may have our preconceptions about Aquaman completely blown out of the water.

Momoa will appear as Aquaman in the upcoming Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice which is due to be released on 25th March 2016 in the U.K. and U.S.A. An Aquaman film, also starring Momoa, is in the works and is slated for release in 2018. He’s also set to appear in a Justice League movie which will see Aquaman team up with the likes of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.
