This year Strictly Come Dancing is showing off more than just a few dance skills as the show continues to dangle and drip feed its celebrity contestants as it becomes determined to build up nervous excitement and anticipation among its audience.

The latest line up announcement is singer Jay McGuiness from The Wanted who will be hoping to cha-cha his way into our Christmas countdown hearts.

The tenth star to join Tess Daley and Claudia Winkleman on the ballroom floor, Jay, 25, has admitted his family are big Strictly fans so the pressure is on him to perform well.

He said: "I know I’ve made them [my family] very happy by taking part - I can’t wait to get started!

"I love to dance but this is going to be very different from anything I’ve ever done before, I’m up for it!"

The boyband star will be up against strong singing competition in the form of Mysterious Girl sensation Peter Andre who, at the height of his 90s fame, seemed more than capable of moving his hips.

Alongside those boys will be Radio 2 presenter Jeremy Vine, Eastenders actress Kellie Bright, TV chef Ainsley Harriot, former Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote, newscaster Katie Dernham, BBC weathergirl Carol Kirkwood, Irish crooner Daniel O’Donnell and Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo.
