Beyonce and Jay-Z were reportedly outbid for a luxury mansion in Beverly Hills by Markus Persson, the creator of Minecraft.

So maybe luxury was something of an understatement. The mansion, according to Curbed, features a huge bar area, a vast living room complete with 54 foot sliding glass door leading straight to the flashy outdoor pool, eight bedrooms, fifteen bathrooms, a screening room and, of course, a whole room just for candy.

Persson certainly seems to be enjoying the candy room and tweeted a picture of his new pad. A whole wall is devoted to different kinds of sweets in a variety of different tubes and jars. And, to be honest, who needs the eight bedrooms, incredible views and fabulous pool when you have your very own sweet shop?

Persson, the Swedish multi-millionaire who sold Minecraft to Microsoft for 2.5 billion, reportedly paid a whopping $70 million for the mansion. The mansion was, according to Curbed, put on the market in the summer months for an astounding $85 million so, not only had Persson outbid the King and Queen of music, he's also saved himself $15 million. However, it's hardly a bargain as $70 million is the most ever paid for a house in Beverly Hills, according to USA Today.

Persson's purchase was confirmed by the group behind the sale, the John Aaroe Group, who announced the record breaking sale in a statement on their blog. "Markus fell in love with the house, its sleek contemporary design and its spectacular panoramic views that sweep from downtown LA to the Pacific Ocean," one of the company's representatives said in the statement. "The fact that the house also was completely furnished in such great style was another major selling point for him."
