Jay-Z decided to attend his final concert at the Barclays Arena in Brooklyn in an against-character fashion; by ditching the glitz and glamour that he so often raps about and riding the subway. Prior to a gig at London's O2 Arena this weekend, the rapper went back to his roots again and arrived to the venue via public transport, and even brought a few famous faces along for the ride.

Chris Martin and Timbaland joined Jay on his train part way through the journey, with producer Timbaland supporting Jay throughout his Magna Carta world tour. Coldplay frontman Martin isn't supporting him during the tour, however the pair are good friends and they also hooked up on stage during the performance. The trio were also accompanied on their journey by an entourage of about 10 people, with bodyguards included.

Needless to say, the unannounced Tube ride caused quite the stir amongst those lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Jay and co. on the train. One fan, Jamie Robb, tweeted a photo of the rapper and Martin, with Timbo just in the background behind Jay. He wrote, "What a riot... Just met Jay Z on the tube in London."

Other fans also commented on the journey, with Twitter user Fu Choi tweeting, "Seeing Jay Z on the tube getting mobbed arriving to O2!! #Buzzing Too starstruck to take a pic," whilst another wrote, "Coming off the tube and I see Jay Z casually walking up the next escalator next to me… EVERYONE GOES NUTS!!"

Jay is performing four shows at the O2 Arena in London before taking his Magna Carta tour further afield and hitting up the rest of Europe. He will arrive in Paris for two shows later this week and will perform shows in The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Belgium and Switzerland before taking his world tour across the Atlantic to his native USA.
