Jennifer Lawrence’s recent essay pointing out the gender pay gap in Hollywood was the latest in a series of incidences this year of celebrities highlighting the issue in a high-profile manner. While it has received a warm reception from almost all of Lawrence’s colleagues, her American Hustle co-star Jeremy Renner has said it is “not my job” to assist female actors in negotiating equal pay deals.

44 year old Renner was asked by Business Insider on Tuesday (October 20th) whether he would play an active role in helping female co-stars in negotiating fair deals, he replied: “That’s not my job… …I don’t know contracts and money and all that sort of stuff.”

Hollywood stars including Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller and Emma Watson have declared their support for Jennifer Lawrence’s essay on gender pay inequality in the film industry.

Miller and Cooper, who were interviewed on the red carpet at the premiere of their new movie Burnt on Wednesday (October 14th), both weighed in on the article that Lawrence published via Lena Dunham’s newsletter Lenny the previous day.

33 year old Miller revealed that she once turned down a play because she was offered less than half the pay of her male co-star – in a two-person production. She told E! News that she reluctantly did “what we have to start doing, unfortunately, at the expense of our creative dreams… …I walked away from a play I wanted to do because I was offered less than half of what the other man was offered and it was just the two of us.”

Lawrence was in conversation with Entertainment Weekly alongside her two Hunger Games co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, promoting the forthcoming final instalment of the dystopian series called Mockingjay – Part 2, when she made the comments. Perhaps if Trump wins, she’ll be returning as Katniss Everdeen to lead a rebellion in real life!

Anna Faris has hit back at “devastating” tabloid reports that her marriage to Chris Pratt is on the rocks, and that her husband has been cheating with his Passengers co-star Jennifer Lawrence.

Faris, who has been married to the Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy actor since July 2009, told Fox411 that the rumour “stung a little bit harder than I thought it would, I have always kind of believed that part of the rumours of celebrity couples were sort of true – because they had never been a part of my life. But it all very nearly ended in disaster when a flub by Olivia Munn almost threw the whole star-studded cast off.

The BBC has been forced to defend its new reality TV show which pits unemployed and low paid workers against each other for a cash prize. The corporation argued that Britain's Hardest Grafter is a "serious social experiment" and now a Hunger Games style battle, as has been suggested.

About to appear in yet another film together, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper have admitted that they’re a bit like a married couple. At the Cinema Society’s premiere of the pair’s new film Serena in New York on Saturday, Lawrence remarked that they were a “work husband and wife”.

As reported by Page Six, the secret to the success of their on- and off-screen relationship is apparently “no sex”, joked Lawrence. Serena is the third film in which Lawrence have featured alongside Cooper, and she revealed that she persuaded him to join the project when she received the script for it during shooting for Silver Linings Playbook in 2011.

Christopher Poole, the 26-year-old founder of 4chan, has retired from the controversial website after 14 years at the helm. Poole created the discussion site while he was still in high school and, in his farewell message, said the site had faced "numerous challenges over the years."

Poole, known as "moot" on the site, is essentially responsible for the popularisation of memes such as 'Rick rolling' and 'lolcats'. 4chan caused controversy last year after it hosted leaked pictures of numerous celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton. Initially, Poole began the website as a place to discuss anime and manga but the site has few laws as to what users can and cannot post, and the FBI stepped in after the celebrity leak.

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin, contrary to reports published in October 2014, may still be together. Sources claim 24-year-old Lawrence and 37-year-old Martin announced they had separated in order to continue seeing one another in private. Sources, speaking to Us Weekly, claimed it was all a ruse and they have continued to create elaborate ways to see each other away from prying eyes including a system to ensure Martin can visit Lawrence's house without being observed.

Patrick Stewart, appearing on a US talk show, stated that he and his co-star Ian McKellen are unlikely to appear in the next X-Men film, X-Men: Apocalypse. 74-year-old Stewart appeared on Larry King Live, due to be broadcast on Wednesday (21st January), and discussed the possibility of reprising his role in the next instalment in the X-Men franchise.

Fresh of winning a Golden Globe for his performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything, Eddie Redmayne has sat down with Jennifer Lawrence for a special chat about character prep and faux reality shows. Lawrence spoke to man of the moment Redmayne for Interview magazine and proved that Hollywood stars really are just like the rest of us, in that they can't help loving a bit of trash TV.

Of course Lawrence did have more serious topics to ask Redmayne about, after all he’s just starred as Stephen Hawking on the big screen. Speaking about the role, Redmayne said that after he landed the part his friend Charlie Cox told him, "If you get the opportunity to play Stephen Hawking, you have no option but to give it your everything. You have to give 8,000 percent."

Nearly a year after the now infamous ‘conscious uncoupling’, actress Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up. Speaking in the February issue of Marie Claire magazine, Paltrow shed some light of her own on why she and her husband called it a day after more than a decade of marriage.

The 42 year old said: “There was nothing dramatic or anything. I had built my life on trying to be all things to all people, and I just couldn’t do it anymore. I really had the sense that I wasn’t allowed to have needs, and I had to prove my specialness or self-worth by doing all this stuff and taking care of everybody else, and I just sort of hit a wall.”

Just when you thought Jennifer Lawrence’s 2014 couldn’t get any more spectacular, she’s been announced as the top grossing actor of the year, with her movies pulling in more viewers than any other name.

According to the list compiled by Forbes, the 24 year old starred in two of the year’s top-grossing movies, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and X-Men: Days of Future Past, which together brought in $1.4 billion in worldwide box offices.
