Speaking at Comic Con, where she was appearing to promote the final Hunger Games movie, Mockingly Part 2, Lawrence said, "Taylor Swift is a badass. That letter she wrote about Apple... I texted her and was like, 'You is a badass bitch.' She's awesome.”

When the interviewer then praised the actress for the strides she’s made for women by closing the pay gap in Hollywood Lawrence dismissed any comparisons to Swift saying, “She's a lot more well spoken than I am.”
Last month Swift had announced she was withholding her album 1989 from Apple Music, due to the company’s decision not to pay artists royalties during the three-month free trial of its new streaming service. In a lengthly open letter Swift called on Apple to change the policy telling the company, “We don’t ask you for free iPhones. Please don’t ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation.”

Swift’s letter certainly made Apple stand up and take notice, as a day later they announced their decission to change the policy, agreeing to now pay artists during the three month period. Announcing the decision Eddy Cue, a senior executive at Apple Music tweeted, ’Apple will always make sure that artist are paid. #AppleMusic will pay artist for streaming, even during customer’s free trial period. We hear you @taylorswift13 and indie artists. Love, Apple.’
