Confessing to a "potty mouth" during an appearance on U.S. talk show Conan while at the Comic-Con convention in California, she accepted host Conan O'Brien's challenge to test censors with a stream of expletives in 30 seconds.

She then yelled out one nasty word after another while the TV personality tossed money into a jar, and the stunt raised $10,000 (£6,700) for her favourite charity.

Earlier in the day, Lawrence and her The Hunger Games co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth hosted a panel discussion, moderated by O'Brien at Comic-Con, and the issue of her foul mouth came to the fore thanks to a sign near the stage that urged audience members to watch their language as children were among them.

Lawrence said, "Josh actually decided that they did write that just for me."

The actress also revealed she got tired of having to pay money to a swear jar her castmates placed on the set of the first film to protect their younger co-stars, like Lawrence's onscreen sister Willow Shields.

She added, "It got to a certain point where I was like, 'F**k you, you don't have to cuss, just because you hear it; I hear s**t all the time'."
