The fourth installment of the franchise, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, shot straight to the top of the box office charts on both sides of the Atlantic when it was released in November (15) and it has maintained its grip on the top spot for a second week in both countries.

Over the weekend (27-29Nov15), the blockbuster took $7.2 million (£4.5 million) in the U.K., putting it ahead of Disney Pixar animation The Good Dinosaur, which debuted at number two with $4.6 million (£2.9 million).

James Bond outing Spectre dropped to third position with weekend takings of $3.5 million (£2.2 million), and Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg's latest collaboration, Bridge of Spies, only managed to debut in fourth place with $2.7 million (£1.7 million).

However, Bridge of Spies fared better than mob thriller Black Mass, which stars Johnny Depp as infamous gangster James 'Whitey' Bulger. It premiered at five with $2.1 million (£1.3 million).
