It is reported that Jennifer Lopez is on the verge of signing up for a residency in Las Vegas. According to TMZ, the 45 year old star will be agreeing to a deal to perform at the Axis theatre at Planet Hollywood, which is incidentally the same venue in which Britney Spears is currently performing. Per show, Lopez is apparently being offered $350,000 per show, three times a week for a 24 week period over one or two years.

On Friday, October 10, Variety’s Power of Women event honoured one very special woman for her work against poverty. Viola Davis may be an Oscar-nominated performer with her own successful TV show, but she had to fight her way there. The actress made sure to honor those still fighting in her speech.

Viola Davis recalled her difficult childhood and lent her voice to the Hunger Is campaign.

"Although my childhood was filled with many happy memories, it was also spent in abject poverty," she explained to the audience, according to Us Weekly. "I was one of the 17 million kids in this country who didn't know where the next meal was coming from, and I did everything to get food. I have stolen for food. I have jumped in huge garbage bins with maggots for food. I have befriended people in the neighborhood, who I knew had mothers who cooked three meals a day for food, and I sacrificed a childhood for food and grew up in immense shame."

Marc Anthony has been ordered by a judge to pay his ex-wife, Dayanara Torres, $26,000 a month in child support. This is double what was initially agreed when the two separated in 2004. They have two children together, sons Cristian (aged 13) and Ryan (aged 11). Whilst the amount may seem excessive, it was a compromise to the amount Torres was demanding, approximately $123,426.

Marc Anthony will have to pay double the amount of child support.

Torres argued Anthony sees their sons very little and that her financial needs have changed since their divorce a decade ago. Anthony, who is also the father of a set of twins with ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, was ordered to pay the increased child support and an additional amount to pay for a nanny and housekeeper. 45-year-old Anthony will also cover Torres' legal costs which amount to approximately $70,000, according to E!

The World Cup opening concert last night wasn’t quite the life-affirming optimism fest it was intended to be. The reason? Sound issues meant that the audience at home could barely hear Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull as they took the stage to perform on opening night. Sure, Jena Irene delivered a great performance on Wednesday’s American Idol, but FCC warning-worthy? Jennifer Lopez seems to think so. Wednesday’s show was centered around the theme of love, with each of the four remaining contestants performing three songs – a “break-up”, “make-up” and “dedication”. In the end, Jena’s “dedication” performance stole the show. Well, the FCC probably won’t be knocking on Idol’s door anytime soon, but Ryan Seacrest still poked fun at Lopez for the incident, saying: "We saw you in that song and you turned to Randy and you said FUN."

Jennifer Lopez may have got one over on ex-boyfriend Sean Combs a.k.a P Diddy.

The 44 year-old songstress has acquired the cable music channel Fuse TV, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

NuvoTV, where Lopez is a minority owner and its chief creative officer, has reached an agreement with the owner of Fuse to purchase the network from Madison Square Garden Company for $226 million.

There are no more second chances left for the remaining contestants on American Idol after the judges decided to use their save on Thursday night (3rd April). After strong performances on the previous show, it was certainly going to be an evening of drama and possible dissent amongst the judges.

Randy Jackson correctly predicted the five to gain the public's support and not enter the bottom three.

However, eight contestants are still remaining after the judges were unable to decide who should be eliminated when the bottom three - Malaya Watson, Sam Woolf and C.J. Harris - battled it out to remain in the competition.
