Will Jennifer Lopez be returning to judge American Idol?

However, another source close to Lopez believes the 44-year-old will be returning to judge. This source appears to be Lopez's boyfriend, and former backing dancer, Casper Smart who told E! she would be returning for the 13th season. Despite plans to work on her music, it seems Lopez has decided she wants to return to the show in order for her schedule to include more time with her children. Lopez has 5-year-twins, named Emme and Max, with her ex-husband Marc Antony.

Lopez was a judge on American Idol for seasons ten and eleven (between 2011 and 2012). She decided to leave the show last year in order to focus of her own music.

If Lopez is returning to judge on the show she will work alongside Australian singer Keith Urban and another, currently unknown, celebrity. Other possible judges include Dr. Luke and Jennifer Hudson.

Will.i.am is reported as having turned down a judging position, whilst Perez Hilton also reported Kanye West turned down a seat on the judges' panel because he felt the show, according to a source, was "too mainstream" and "he didn't want to lose any street cred."

There has been no confirmation, as yet, on Lopez's possible role on the show.

The 13th season of American Idol will premiere on 15 January 2014 on Fox.
