Former ‘Top Gear’ presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May are said to be rather pleased that the beleaguered Chris Evans announced his departure from the re-vamped BBC show earlier this week, with the latter saying he was “very chuffed” at Evans’ failure.

“So, the Grand Tour (GT for short) will come from a tent, which we will put up in a different location every week. Your town?” another tweet read soon afterwards.

He may have achieved total mastery of the pop world, but Ed Sheeran demonstrated this week that his skills on the road leave quite a lot to be desired. According to BBC's Newsbeat, the star crashed ‘Top Gear’’s ‘Reasonably Priced Car’ during filming of a regular segment of the popular show, whose new episode is due to be broadcast this weekend.

The singer, whose second album X was the biggest-seller of 2014 in the UK, does not hold a driving license and had apparently never driven a car before, so it’s hardly surprising that the red Vauxhall Astra left the track and entered the grass on a number of occasions.

But it’s okay; he didn’t mean to say the n-word. He tried not to say it, but he just couldn’t stop it sounding like he maybe didn’t not say it. Sort of. The BBC doesn’t care either, reportedly handing him a new contract worth loads of money that’ll keep him hosting Top Gear with his mates, who also like to say incredibly racist things and get away with it, too.

Racism? What Racism? Jeremy Clarkson Negotiating Mammoth £12m BBC Deal

Jeremy Clarkson

The BBC seems to have an inexplicable soft spot for Jeremy Clarkson, the man many consider to be guilty of multiple racist remarks. It’s almost impossible to write a non-bias story on the man, especially when he’s being rewarded for years of translucent bigotry with a shiny new, £12m contract from the BBC, the U.K’s non-bias, tax-funded, license fee-demanding broadcaster.

The new deal, according to The Sunday People’s source, is “being worked on right now” and would keep Clarkson in the driving seat at Top Gear until 2018. “There is no question of Jeremy’s deal not being renewed,” added this source. “The top executives want him signed up as soon as possible. We are all very excited that Top Gear as we know it will be with us for three more years from 2015.”

How Many Accusations Of Racism Can Jeremy Clarkson Get Away With?

Jeremy Clarkson

You have to be very careful when talking about stars and their alleged racism. But Jeremy Clarkson has been accused of being racist so many times; one begins to wonder how long the BBC is going to put up with it. The latest has seen the controversial presenter deny using the word “nigger”.

Jeremy ClarksonJeremy Clarkson at the Cheltenham Festival

Full disclosure: we thought about starring the word out, but we’re not calling anyone it, and we don’t condone the use of it. By starring the word out, you put it in someone else’s head without actually saying it. So in the interest of clarity, Jeremy Clarkson is accused of saying the word, and denies it on Twitter. His mates are backing him too.

So, Did Jeremy Clarkson Use The N-Word, Or Not?

Jeremy Clarkson

Jeremy Clarkson is under fire again after the Daily Mirror accused him of using the word "nigger" in previously unbroadcast footage from his BBC programme Top Gear. The presenter strongly denies the allegations. In footage published on the newspaper's website, Clarkson appears to recite the beginning of  the children's nursery rhyme, "Eeeny, meeny, miny, moe." before appearing to mumble, "Catch a nigger by his toe."

The BBC has launched an urgent investigation into the allegations, with Clarkson's job believed to be on the line.

Another Offensive Jeremy Clarkson Remark, To Join These Other Offensive Jeremy Clarkson Remarks

Jeremy Clarkson

He’s at it again! Jeremy Clarkson is back to his old offensive tricks, this time he’s been called out for referring to an Asian man as a ‘slope’. During an episode of Clarkson’s successful BBC show Top Gear, the presenter made the joke regarding a bridge in Thailand, as well as a local Asian man who was crossing the bridge. The word ‘slope’ is considered an ethnic slur and Clarkson’s use of it has resulted in a public outcry from viewers in response to his racist remark.

Jeremy Clarkson Insults Jeremy Clarkson has a knack for insulting everyone and everything

It’s not the first time that Clarkson has been called out for insulting someone or another. The presenter seems to lack an internal filter. Here’s just a few examples of past Clarkson-isms.

Piers Morgan And Jeremy Clarkson To Fight In Ring After Twitter Spat?

Piers Morgan Jeremy Clarkson

Piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarkson - probably two of Britain's most polarising television personalities - have engaged in yet another Twitter spat. Of course by polarising we mean hated and by Twitter spat we mean THE MOTHER OF ALL TWITTER SPATS.

In a recent column for the Dail Mail, Morgan described the moment Top Gear presenter Clarkson interrupted a conversation he was having with Justin Timberlake, Samuel L Jackson and Pharell Williams at the GQ Men of the Year awards. It went like this:

"Evening, Clarkson,' I chuckled.

Benedict Cumberbatch Punches Jeremy Clarkson On 'Top Gear' (Sort Of)

Benedict Cumberbatch Steve McQueen Jeremy Clarkson

Benedict Cumberbatch has only gone and done what millions of Britons have longed to do for years. Nope, it's not star in a Star Trek reboot. It's not play Sherlock Holmes. It is, of course, give Jeremy Clarkson a great big punch to the gut.

Ok, so he didn't quite do that, though the British actor gave the presenter a stage combat demonstration during an interview for Top Gear, which aired on BBC Two last night (July 14, 2013).

When Cumberbatch joked how he couldn't do Clarkson's job - after smashing up his Mini - the presenter responding by admitting he could never be an actor, "I've no idea how to fly a spaceship or punch anyone. Or act."

Jeremy Clarkson And Danny Baker's Great Album Showdown Turns Into Snoredown

Jeremy Clarkson

Showdown or snoozefest? It was an odd match up by BBC4 to pit Danny Baker with Jeremy Clarkson in an attempt to fight their way through some of the greatest albums ever made. Whilst Baker has the sort of indie reputation that makes him a darling for these sort of things, Top Gear presenter Clarkson isn’t really known for a sharp ear and a perceptive critique – not when it comes to music anyway. Surely there was going to be a bit of a lack of chemistry.

And so it proved. There was no showdown at all, just a rather tedious procession of Clarkson – as well as other guests, including Blur producer Stephen Street and music critic Kate Mossman – gave their opinions, unchallenged by Baker. Don’t get us wrong, Danny Baker is a most righteous fellow, but he didn’t bring that side of him to the table last night (February 5, 2013). The whole point of the program was to see which 12 albums would make it into the probably not that prestigious Showdown Dozen. Clarkson’s choice of Supetramp’s Crime Of The Century managed to cruise into the dozen, whilst Baker’s love of Frank Zappa saw two of his albums included.

All in all though? A disappointing show, with The Guardian concurring, writing “Where was the promised showdown? Having talked up the idea of the LP era as a heated debate between stoned music nerds over which was the best Led Zep track (Since I've Been Loving You, since you asked) or whether the Beatles were better than the Stones (definitely not),Danny Baker presided over one of the most polite discussions in television history.” Quite.

Jeremy Clarkson Set For Huge Windfall In Top Gear Deal

Jeremy Clarkson Richard Hammond James May

Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond have signed a new deal, ensuring Top Gear’s future for the next three years. The deal is likely to involve a huge windfall for Clarkson in particular, with BBC Worldwide now taking full control of his lucrative company ‘Bedder 6’

Clarkson has become the highest paid BBC star, earning over £3 million in the year to March 2012 – reports The Guardian – and his company Bedder 6 made £15.2 million in pre-tax profits in the year to March 2011. The firm generated income from Top Gear live shows, DVDs and international promotion of the brand. The business is worth anywhere between £50 million and £100 million, though the details of the BBC’s takeover are unknown. Under the new Top Gear deal, May and Hammond will get a share of the show’s commercial revenue in return for promoting the show around the world – essentially, making them even richer. In July of this year, it emerged that Clarkson’s income from Top Gear rose from £900,000 to nearly £3 million in the year.

Of the new deal, a BBC Worldwide spokesman said, “BBC Worldwide has agreed new commercial deals with Jeremy, James, Richard and Andy to secure Top Gear's international future for another three years.”
