Of course it’s not definitely coming back, but it’s a laugh to talk about Seinfeld making a return to screens, and Jerry Seinfeld being spotted with Jason Alexander outside the iconic Tom’s Café in New York is a great place to start.

Lucky Twitter user and “Thai Food Enthusiast” @ClubAliP spotted the pair and subsequently snapped them. She (the person in the picture is a female, but we don’t know if she’s a women) then uploaded it to Twitter.

What followed was a barrage of questions. “What the hell does this mean?” was one of them, and a popular answer has been: ‘Seinfeld is 100% coming back, even it’s for a one off’.

But while nothing is concrete - nothing even resembles the components required to make concrete – there is one small nugget of hope. This nugget comes in the form of a throwaway comment made by Seinfeld during his recent AMA with Reddit. He said that he was currently working on a script with sitcom creator Larry David on a "big, huge, gigantic" project.

Seinfeld was a phenomenal success in the 80s and 90s when it was first broadcast on NBC. It turned Jerry Seinfeld into a global star, and launched the promising careers of Julia Louis Dreyfus, Michael Richards and Alexander, who played Elaine, Kramer and George respectively.

The last time the Seinfeld guys were all together was towards the end of Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. In the show, David attempts to reunite the cast for one last special so he can cast his estranged wife Cheryl with a view to reconciliation.

The last episode of Seinfeld was widely criticised, something that is touched upon in the Curb episode, so it’s not beyond the bounds of possibility that a reunion might occur. We can’t see it happening, though.
