Jessie J has postponed her 2013 sold out tour by almost nine months, citing the recording of her new album as the reason. The British pop star and judge on The Voice has pushed 17 live dates back to the end of the 2013 because she needs "more time" to work on the new songs.

In a statement to fans who had bought tickets, Jessie J said, "I am honestly truly sorry but I hope you all can understand that it's just because I would like to take more time to finish my new album. I promise to make this tour my biggest and best ever and cannot wait for you all to hear my new songs." The run of dates - her first full arena tour - were set to begin in Nottingham on February 27, though will now begin in Belfast on October 15. It will conclude at the Cardiff Arena on November 11 (originally set for March 6, 2012). The massive rescheduling will give some fans a headache, with tickets for the original Glasgow date at the SECC no longer valid. That show will now be held at the new Hydro Arena.

Jessie J - real name Jessica Cornish - won the Critics' Choice award for upcoming artists at the 2011 Brits. Her hit singles include Price Tag and Domino.
