Teenage superheroes are back
It’s been a long wait, but the second installment of the film Kick-Ass is on the way and a new trailer has been revealed that includes the hard-to-recognize Jim Carrey, among several other new super heroes.
Aaron Johnson is back as Kick-Ass
The first Kick-Ass saw Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz star, among others, in a film that saw a bunch of high school kids take on the roles of vigilantes. It was a huge success, making some $96 million at the box office. This second one sees the gang return, but from the trailer it’s clear that their heroism in the first film has inspired a whole new realm of news super heroes, keen to join the Kick-Ass squad. Jim Carrey is among these, though he’s barely recognizable as Colonel Stars And Stripes.
Their foe is a familiar one from the first film, though this time Red Mist is back with an even more sinister moniker, The Motherf*cker, cultivated in order for him to avenge the death of his father. Wearing something that you might expect to see in a camp S&M video, it’s perhaps not clear of the damage that this guy can really do. Furthermore, he’s assembled a squad of evil superheroes to help him do his bidding. Produced by Jeff Wadlow this time out, though with Matthew Vaughn still on production duties, Kick-Ass 2 is set for a July release in the UK, with a US release following a month later.
