Fact: Iron Man filmmaker Jon Favreau has signed on to executive produce and direct the first episode of The Big Bang Theory spin-off show Young Sheldon. The new series will focus on the background of Jim Parsons' character, Sheldon Cooper, with Big Little Lies actor Iain Armitage in the titular role.

Fact: The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons is developing a series based on Ryan O'Connell's book, I'm Special: And Other Lies We Tell Ourselves, with boyfriend Todd Spiewak through their That's Wonderful Productions. O'Connell's book, which will be published in June (15), centres on the writer's life as a gay man with cerebral palsy. He will serve as writer and executive producer alongside Parsons and Spiewak.
