Matt Damon "Bumped" By Jimmy Kimmel In United Airlines Skit

Matt Damon Jimmy Kimmel

Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel put aside their light-hearted ‘feud’ for a hilarious segment skewering United Airlines for its recent passenger-bumping PR disaster on the latter’s late night chat show this week.

The two have been engaged in fictitious feud with each other for eight years, largely revolving around how Damon never gets invited as guest to ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!” However, they joined forces for the sake of capitalising on the great social media talking point of the last fortnight – the United Airlines scandal in which a passenger was dragged off a United airplane by airport police because he had been bumped from the internal flight.

Jimmy Kimmel Announces Trump-Free Tuesday - And It's Unsurprisingly Refreshing

Jimmy Kimmel Donald Trump

It's no wonder that Jimmy Kimmel is thinking about retirement from the talk show business, what with Donald Trump's various antics inciting an endless stream of must-be-addressed issues since his election. Thus, he decided to take a well-earned break with 'Trump-Free Tuesday' this week.

Jimmy KimmelJimmy Kimmel declares Trump-Free Tuesday

Yesterday (February 28th 2017) the talk show host decided to disregard the President's Congress address on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' and declared it an official 'Trump-Free Tuesday'. We don't blame him. Oscars Host Jimmy Kimmel Under Fire For "Mocking" Mahershala Ali's Name

Jimmy Kimmel Academy Of Motion Pictures And Sciences Mahershala Ali

While the La La Land / Moonlight confusion inevitably stole the headlines at last night’s Oscars ceremony, the telecast’s host Jimmy Kimmel has come under fire for ‘mocking’ actor Mahershala Ali’s name and ‘devaluing’ his Best Supporting Actor win.

When the first Oscar of the evening went to the 43 year old American actor for his role in Moonlight, making him the first ever Muslim to win an academy award, Ali took the time to pay a heartfelt tribute to his wife Amatus, who had given birth to their first daughter just a few days previously.

“I just want to thank [my wife] for just being such a soldier through this process and for carrying me through it all,” the star said.

Jimmy Kimmel Is Seriously Considering Hanging Up His Talk Show Hat

'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' has been on the air for 14 years, and the self-confessed 'control freak' host has claimed to spend up to 70 hours a week working on each episode; from writing monologues to researching his guests for interviews. Jimmy Kimmel

Jimmy Kimmel continued his reign of terror on Trick-or-Treaters with the sixth annual Halloween candy prank. This year, however, was the first time he got to do the prank himself on his 2-year-old daughter Jane. Needless to say, it didn't go as well as he'd hoped.

Matt Damon Jimmy Kimmel Ben Affleck

Matt Damon might have failed at landing a Best Actor Oscar this year, but he has managed to make his way onto 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' finally with the help from his best friend Ben Affleck. Of course, his stay was very brief as Kimmel was soon able to kick him off, but it was enough to please the audience.

Matt DamonMatt Damon sneaks onto Jimmy Kimmel Live

As part of the post-Oscars show, Ben Affleck arrived onto the stage of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', nonchalantly wearing a massively bulging overcoat and claiming that finishing training for his Batman role has meant that all his muscle has turned to fat. In response to Kimmel's comment that he's 'ballooned', Affleck quipped: 'I didn't think this was going to be about body-shaming tonight'. But Kimmel was not to be fooled by the absurd moving bump and immediately got up to see what Affleck was hiding. It turned out to be a very red-faced Matt Damon, panting a little from the lack of oxygen, who unstraps himself from a body harness that Affleck is wearing and garners huge applause from the audience, to Kimmel's chagrin.

Late Night Renaissance - How This Winter's Changes Are Paying Off For Fallon, Kimmel, Leno And The Networks

Seven months after Fallon’s Tonight takeover, everything looks great in Late Night Land. Not only has the former late night host managed to revive ratings, he’s managed to keep them high – so high, if fact, that this past week of re-runs topped Tonight originals’ numbers from the same period last year, according to The Hollywood Reporter. THR reports that at this point, Fallon holds 34% of the most coveted demographic – viewers aged between 18 and 49.

Jimmy Fallon
Fallon has ushered in a revival for Tonight.

But oddly enough, this influx didn’t come at the expense of other late night formats. Instead of reeling in viewers from competing late night formats, Fallon has brought in new viewers. His wide margin of victory hasn't taken away any considerable portion of David Letterman's or Jimmy Kimmel's audiences. Kimmel even wrapped May virtually steady with his showing that month last year. In fact, Kimmel is on track to wrap the 2014 season with the highest numbers his show has seen since 2003, according to THR.

The 86th Academy Awards

The 86th Academy Awards: The night we'd all been waiting for was finally here: this year's Oscars ceremony has come and gone along with another ground-breaking year in cinema. 12 Years a Slave predictably took Best Picture but Gravity emerged as the movie of the evening with seven awards, five of which were in the technical categories. Matthew McConaughey and Cate Blanchett triumphed with their respective acting awards, pizza was served, Lupita Nyong'o was the darling of yet another awards show and high-scoring host Ellen Degeneres wrapped up the festivities with a neat and expertly-timed bow.

The Oscars Selfie: They say a picture speaks a thousand words but nowadays an image is judged by how many retweets it can get within the shortest space of time. When Ellen Degeneres decided to get a couple of stars together for an impromptu selfie, she probably didn't expect the shot - which featured Bradley Cooper, Brangeline, JLaw, Lupita, Kevin Spacey, Jared Leto, Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep - to surpass Obama's re-election shot's previous world record. The snap broke Twitter, attracting 80,000 retweets within 30 minutes and 1.2 million in an hour.

At Friday night’s MusiCares gala, Carole King was most definitely the star of the night – and the year, as she was honored with MusiCares’ Person of the Year award. More than 2000 admirers filled the Los Angeles Convention Center to pay tribute to King. Past MusiCares honorees Bonnie Raitt, Gloria Estefan and David Crosby were also in attendance along with the likes of Yoko Ono, Ciara, Diane Warren, Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson and Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, USA Today reports.

The ceremony kicked off with host Jimmy Kimmel paying tribute to King’s five-decade career and the 1971 album that started it all. “That cat from the Tapestry album must be dead, right?” Kimmel quipped in his opening speech. He was followed by renditions of King’s most popular songs, performed by some of the biggest names in music today.

Unfortunate Trick-Or-Treaters Once Again Fall Victim To Jimmy Kimmel's Annual Halloween Prank

Jimmy Kimmel

Jimmy Kimmel, late show host, comedian and prankster extraordinaire is at it again. If for you, like for us, Kimmel’s annual Halloween prank is the highlight of the holiday, well you might just be a terrible person. But also, he did it again in 2013 and it’s more hilarious than ever. Meaning, there are more creative temper tantrums than ever. Who would imagine that there were so many ways for a child to protest their stolen candy.

Jimmy Kimmel, LACMA 2013
Jimmy Kimmel, the bane of any trick-or-treater's existance.

In case you’re not familiar with the whole affair, it’s all pretty simple. In 2011, Kimmel asked parents to tell their kids that they ate all their Halloween candy, record the little darlings’ (sort of) reaction and upload it to youtube with the title “Hey Jimmy Kimmel, I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy.” The result was so undeniably hilarious, that the show turned it into an annual affair. In the days after October 31, parents were challenged to upload their home videos and Kimmel’s team selected the most entertaining ones to make this year’s video, which you can watch below:

Gravity's Pull: Alfonso Cuaron's sci-fi thriller Gravity exceeded expectations at the box office during its opening weekend, pulling in a massive $50 million despite modest promotion. Kanye West & Jimmy Kimmel Kiss And Make-Up On 'Live'

Kanye West Jimmy Kimmel

Kanye West was Wednesday's (9 Oct.) big name guest for Jimmy Kimmel Live; a booking that was made all the more interesting given the recent fallout between the two over a parody Jimmy did of a Kanye interview that took place last month. The resulting chat was pretty funny, if not a little awkward at times, as Kanye's mask fell off long enough to reveal a real human person during his engaging talk with the late night chat host (ABC).

Kanye and Kimmel seem to have put their differences to one side

"The main reason I did that is because I like to see kids curse," Kimmel told Kanye in reference to the sketch, which features children acting out his interview with BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe. Kimmel also admitted that he took some of Kanye's quotes out of context for comedic effect, stating that he only did the skit because "I think it's funny."

Kanye West And Jimmy Kimmel To Smoothe Out Their Issues With JKL Interview

Kanye West Jimmy Kimmel

After keeping a relatively low profile following the birth of daughter North, Kanye West is active and working again, most recently with a scheduled appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight, October 9th. But there’s an additional layer to this: it will be the first time the talk show host sits down with the rapper, after West went on a Twitter rampage against him recently.

Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, London
West has been quite the family man lately.

Can’t you just feel the tension in the air? For those in need of a brief rundown of the feud, Kanye West recently did an interview with BBC Radio 1. In it, he declared himself the “biggest rock star in the world.” Kimmel, naturally, took the golden parody opportunity and had kids recreate the controversial video, at which point West took to Twitter to pen the following rant.

Tonight, It's All About Kanye West Vs Jimmy Kimmel. Don't Miss It.

Kanye West Jimmy Kimmel

Kanye West's behavior has been rather odd this year. Not Amanda Bynes odd, just odd. He's been going after photographers, boasting about his talent and going off on crazy tangents during interviews - this despite his album Yeezus gaining critical acclaim and Kanye becoming a father for the first time.

Kanye WestKanye West, On The Catwalk

It appeared to come to a head when Kanye sat down for a chat with Radio 1's Zane Lowe last month. It was less of an interview, and more of a rapper talking for an hour about anything but his music.

Kanye West Will Meet Jimmy Kimmel Face To Face As Their Feud Continues

Kanye West Jimmy Kimmel

Kanye West and television talk show host will face each other for the first time since their feud began.

Their feud started over a series of tweets by the the hip-hop star, criticising Kimmel for airing a spoof of West's recent interview with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe.

The spoof poked fun at West for claiming he was the "No.1 rock star in the world" as well as expressing that he is tired of getting knocked down from fashion labels across the globe.

Jimmy Kimmel has well and truly riled rapper Kanye West after airing a spoof interview of Kanye's now-viral interview with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, in which Kanye describes himself as the world's biggest rockstar. Vampire Weekend Record Their Own Take On Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' [Listen]

Vampire Weekend Robin Thicke Pharrell Williams T.I Jimmy Kimmel Queens Of The Stone Age Foals

Just when we were all starting to get sick of 'Blurred Lines,' Robin Thicke's mega-hit featuring Pharrell Williams and T.I., New York rockers Vampire Weekend were on hand earlier this week to give us all another reason to care about the track once again as they gave their own take on the track. The performance was part of BBC Radio One's Live Lounge sessions and yes, it does feature an (attempted) rendition of T.I.'s rapped part as well.

Vampire Weekend
The group made the track their own

The laughter-inducing version, that is filled with ad-libs and the occasional cry of "dat falsetto!" whenever someone forgets a line, was recorded with glee by the 'Diane Young' rockers at the London radio studio. Hearing Ezra sing “You the hottest bitch in this place!!!” and mumble “pimpin” and “shake your rump!” in his best T.I. impression is as funny as it founds too, as the white boy indie kids break down into hysterics by the end of the track.

Comic Mel Brooks Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award From American Film Institute

Mel Brooks Jimmy Kimmel

Mel Brooks became the 41st recipient of the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award at Thursday (June 6) night's handing-out ceremony. Upon receiving award the director of such comic greats as Young Frankenstein and Blazing Sandler told the star-studded audience that "movies saved [his] life," following a heartfelt yet humorous video tribute.

The ceremony before the the handing over of the award to the 86-year-old was a fitting one for the comedy great, beginning with a song and dance routine featuring numbers from Brooks' The Producers, all being reenacted by Martin Short. He said after; "the word genius is used a lot in Hollywood, so I might as well call Mel one," as the ceremony went on and a range of comedy greats gave their respects to the comic, with Larry David blaming Mel for keeping him away from comedy in his aspiring years because he knew he'd never live up to it, whilst Jimmy Kimmel took paying his respects to the writer/director a little more seriously, jokingly saying, We are going to miss you so much, Mel."

Kimmel continued; "you were one of the greats. Rest in peace, my friend," with Brooks addressing Kimmel's comment as soon as he got on stage , first swearing then exclaiming "I'm not gonna die!"

Mike Tyson Fights Back From Critical Mauling To Take Musical On Tour

Mike Tyson Jimmy Kimmel

One of the most controversial stars of the past three decades in the ring, boxer Mike Tyson is taking his Broadway show Mike Tyson: Undisputed Champion on the road in the new year for a 10-week tour.

Tyson raised eyebrows when initially announcing the show, and has since suffered somewhat of a critical mauling over it. The plot centers on the time when Tyson was convicted of rape and sentenced to prison for three years in 1992, a crime he still contests that he did not commit. The show will commence its tour on February 12, 2013 in Indianapolis and will hit 36 cities across the USA, reports The New York Times. Tyson needs all the good press he can get for the jaunt, and revealed the tour on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, adding in an anecdote about a visit from Florence Henderson whilst he was in prison.

Tyson was apparently in solitary confinement at the time and said to Kimmel “What was I going to say when Mrs. Brady came to visit?” before staggering around the stage imitating what it was like to walk in shackles. Making his boxing debut in the 1980's, Tyson became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in history in 1986 when aged just 20 he knocked out Trevor Berbick for the WBC belt. However, he never re-captured his 80's magic and spent much of the next two decades fading in form, although he was never far away from controversy out of the ring.

Jimmy Kimmel On Interviewing David Letterman

Jimmy Kimmel David Letterman

Take one emerging talk show host, and make them interview one of the genre's all time legends, and what do you get? A nervous, emerging talk show host. Jimmy Kimmel says interviewing David Letterman is "a big deal" for him.

"It's been some welcome," he laughed, when Access Hollywood interviewed on moving his show to Brooklyn. "We were, of course, disappointed that we had to cancel our first show, and then trying to do the show in the middle of all this craziness has been difficult, but I don't know -- it brings people together to, I guess, stand in line outside Trader Joe's trying to get hummus," Jimmy joked. "Tonight David Letterman is on the show and the band Vampire Weekend... I'm nervous about it because I've been watching David Letterman religiously since I was about 13 years old," Jimmy said. "When I was a kid, my birthday cake said, 'Late Night with David Letterman' on it, my license plate on my car said, 'Late Night,' so it's a big deal for me."

We're not surprised: this would be like Kendrick Lamar interviewing 2 Pac; David Beckham interviewing Pele, or Daniel Radcliff interviewing any other professional actor capable of acting. It's a big deal. You can catch the two talk show hosts... talking, 12/11c tonight (Wednesday, October 31) on ABC.

Letterman And Jimmy Fallon Film Shows Despite Hurricane Sandy - "Frankenstorm"

David Letterman Jimmy Fallon Jimmy Kimmel

David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon may be taking the phrase 'the show much go on' a little too seriously, as both chat show hosts continued to tape their shows despite numerous warnings in light of Hurricane Sandy or Frankenstorm as it's become known.

It was all a little bit weird. Lettermen ran through some rejected nicknames for the storm, which would have been a hilarious bit on his normal show, but given the lack of live studio audience, and the fact his usual graphics guy was absent - meaning someone held up scrappy bits of paper on camera - it wasn't quite the slick show we've come to expect. At least Fallon started his show off with an acknowledgment that it was to be somewhat abnormal, kicking things off from a rain-soaked Rockefeller Plaza. Jimmy Kimmel decided to play it safe. The Hollywood reporter quotes a statement from his team, saying: "Due to stupid Hurricane Sandy and in the interest of the safety of our studio audience, Jimmy Kimmel Live! will not broadcast tonight from the Harvey Theatre at Brooklyn Academy of Music. We are hopeful to be back on the air tomorrow night with Howard Stern,Tracy Morgan and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings." Kimmel did go ahead with his Tuesday show (30th Oct. 2012).

This won't come as comforting news to many New Yorkers, many of which won't have the power to even watch the show (some reports suggest that power will be out for two weeks). Here at Contact Music we'd like to wish everyone on the East Coast the best of luck in getting through the stormy weather.

The Show Must Go On? David Letterman Props Up Entertainment Industry During Hurricane Sandy

David Letterman Jimmy Fallon Jimmy Kimmel Stephen Colbert Jon Stewart The XX Cat Power Grimes Rufus Wainwright The National Keira Knightley Russell Crowe Will Smith

The mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg has been making sure that the city's residents were fully prepared for Hurricane Sandy, which hit New York last night. And whilst the majority of New York citizens paid heed, TV presenter David Letterman decided to pay heed instead to that age-old motto from the world of entertainment. "the show must go on!"

According to MTV, Letterman wasn't going to let a minor detail like the biggest storms to ever hit the USA stop him from filming one of his late night chat shows. He did, however, film the episode of The Late Show With David Letterman without the presence of his usual live audience. He may have been prepared to brave the elements to get the show filmed but he wasn't about to let the general public endanger themselves in the process. The same applied to Jimmy Fallon's show, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

Other shows weren't so lucky. Jimmy Kimmel was forced to cancel one of his tapings in Brooklyn, announcing on Twitter "Though it pains us to do it, JKL from Brooklyn tonight is cancelled. I'm disappointed too, but we want you to be safe." Over at Comedy Central, however, the laughter stopped for the night. Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart both cancelled the filming for their shows.

"Where's The Love Axl?" Slash's Wife Disappointed By Axl Rose's Jimmy Kimmel Interview

Axl Rose Slash Jimmy Kimmel Guns N Roses

In distinct contrast to his normal behaviour Axl Rose was a) on time and b) giving an interview, with Jimmy Kimmel. The GUNS N' ROSES front man hasn't given a live TV interview for 20 years, but now that he has a 12 date residency at The Joint at Hard Rock in Las Vegas is more than happy to do a little promo in aid of the performances.

Perla Hudson, the wife of ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, was disappointed by the interview and quipped about it in an interview with Us Weekly. She, like many other fans, was probably hoping for a more in-depth and revealing interview, rather than the brief and amusing chat with Kimmel that ultimately barely scratched the surface of Axl's interesting life and even more interesting psyche. "I was waiting for something enlightening and all I got was promotion for a show and his evident affinity for a chili burger," Hudson said.  "Where is the love Axl? And I stayed up for this? Sex, drugs and chili dogs. Long live Axl Rose. And a Halloween tree." Fixating on his weight, she said he has "evidently [had] way too many Tommy's chili burgers!" We can't disagree, he really is looking like a bit of a porker these days, in contrast to his high cheek boned and chiselled days of the early 90s.

Ah well, Axl turned 50 years old earlier this year, so gaining a few pounds is pretty much par for the course in middle age. In the interview he also expressed apathetic support for Obama, but that despite 'leaning' towards the Democrats, he won't be voting. A little odd given that his residency is titled "An Appetite For Democracy". Apathy, political contradictions and piling on the pounds, let's put it all down to creative licence. He's Axl Rose, he can do what he likes. The Guns N' Roses residency will begin on Wednesday 31st October 2012, with 11 futher days until November 24th of the same year.

First TV Interview In 20 Years Sees Axl Rose Back President Obama

Axl Rose Jimmy Kimmel Guns N Roses

The normally grumpy Axl Rose seemed pretty cheerful indeed as he appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show, and as well he might! After all, this was the first televised interview the notorious front man of ageing rock and rollers Guns N’ Roses had given in more than 20 years. Rose was surprisingly smooth in the role as guest, and even kept his cheerful demeanour when Kimmel likened him to Santa Claus. That must be some sized dressing they’d put up for him backstage.

That said, Kimmel largely avoided the long, long list of things he could’ve asked Rose, such as, y’know, his embittered relationship with his former guitarist Slash, or his decision to reject his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction and then subsequently apologise for his no show, nor indeed what Guns N’ Roses were planning next. Kimmel might as well have just asked him “So, Axl, how are you?” and have that be that.

However, he did take the ribbing he got well, and in a moment that really did make him seem like Santa Claus, he puts Guns N’ Roses tickets under certain audience members seats, as well bringing along a burger truck and giving everyone gift certificates! Oh, and the title of this story? It’s because he told Kimmel that he “would lean Obama” in the upcoming election, though he quantified this by saying that he and most of California tend not to vote. So there you go then, Axl Rose: not quite as monstrous as we thought. See for yourself below (complete with amusing Halloween anecdote):
