John Fogerty is continuing to prove that you really are as young as you feel, with the former-Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman recently speaking with Reuters about his ambitious new album, the prospect of working with his former CCR bandmates and a host of other well known names on the project, and his plans to retire (he doesn't have any).

Fogerty explained in his talk on Tuesday (May 28) with Reuters that he has been hard at work remixing and reworking  some of his most famous hits for the upcoming release, Wrote a Song for Everyone. The album does feature some new compositions, however the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee was keen to point out that many of the tracks on the album are reworking of some of his solo and CCR songs. He said, "[His wife] suggested getting all my favorite artists to do various songs, and it seemed like a great idea - to do fresh arrangements and interpretations of them."

The new album, his first since 2009's The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again, was released on Tuesday (May 28) and has already amassed quit a buzz around it despite Fogerty's limited publicity for the album and just goes to show that the allure of a 60's rock titan never truly dies away. Of course, the wide and impressive array of guest on the album has probably helped initial sales, with the Foo Fighters helping out on a reworking of 'Fortunate Son,' a collaboration that featured on Grohl's Sound City documentary, as well as country singers Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert and Brad Paisley. R&B singer Jennifer Hudson also appears on the album alongside blues musician Allen Toussaint in a reworking of one of Fogerty and CCR's best known tracks, 'Proud Mary.'

It's remarkably hard to get 14 different artists organized, as they're all busy with their own careers, touring and recording," Fogerty said. "Everyone wanted to do it but I had no idea it'd be so difficult."
Recorded over the space of two plus years in  Los Angeles, New Orleans and Nashville, Wrote a Song for Everyone is available to buy and download now. For those of you who want ot see Fogerty performing his hits on his own though, you can catch him on his Fall tour, which begins in Los Angeles on October 9. Full dates are available on his website.
