'Uncle Buck' Set For TV Remake On ABC, Starring Mike Epps

ABC has reportedly picked up a single-camera comedy based on the 1989 movie Uncle Buck, which will star Mike Epps. The show joins a string of new comedies the network announced yesterday, including the return of ‘The Muppets’ and Ken Jeong’s ‘Dr Ken’.

According to Deadline, Epps will star as Uncle Buck a ‘fun loving but irresponsible guy’ who goes to stay with his brother and sister-in-law after their nanny quits and he needs a place to live. The series is reportedly being eyed for a midseason run on the network.

'The Breakfast Club' To Return To US Theatres For 30th Anniversary

It’s been 30 years since John Hughes’ classic The Breakfast Club hit theatres and changed the teen movie landscape. So what better way is there to celebrate the iconic movie’s birthday, than by bringing it back to the cinemas for a whole new generation.

A restored version of the film will be shown in 430 U.S. theatres for two nights on March 26th and 31st beginning at 7:30 p.m. local time, as part of ‘The Breakfast Club 30th Anniversary’ celebrations presented by Fathom Events, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and BY Experience.

Molly Ringwald Covers The Breakfast Club's 'Don't You (Forget About Me)

Molly Ringwald, of The Breakfast Club fame, has covered the film's main theme song for her new jazz album Except Sometimes. The singer puts a new spin on the catchy track, originally by Simple Minds.

"When I recorded the album...it was really soon after John Hughes passed away. And he was in my mind a lot," Ringwald told Vulture when asked why she decided to record the classic track. "And, I don't know, I felt like I wanted to sing a tribute to him. And also, I wanted to incorporate who I was into who I am." The Breakfast Club - directed by the late great John Hughes - and starring Ringwald, Emilio Estevez and Anthony Michael Hall followed five teenagers as they spend a Saturday detention together and come to realise they are all deeper than their respective stereotypes.

The film made nearly $100 million worldwide and was never released theatrically in the US.

It's eight years later, and Poiré has directed another small comedy about two 12th century Frenchmen (hmm, played by Jean Reno and that same popular French guy) who are mistakenly transported to Chicago 2000. Hey, wait a minute!
