Fact: A 20-year-old piece of art by Stone Roses rocker John Squire is set to be auctioned off as part of a huge music memorabilia sale in England. The black, white and beige painting, in the style of artist Jackson Pollock, stems from the band's heyday in the late 1980s. It will be put under the hammer alongside Elvis Presley's teeth mould and Alan MCGee's rock collection in Manchester on Saturday (25Feb12).
Fact: The artwork created by Stone Roses guitarist John Squire to dismiss rumours of a reunion is set to go on sale in London next month (Jul09). The piece, which featured a message confronting speculation about a comeback, will be auctioned off on 1 July (09).
