Jon Bon Jovi Never Doubted Bon Jovi's Future

Jon Bon Jovi

Jon Bon Jovi has never had any doubt there would be a comeback album.

The 54-year-old rock musician ahs admitted he knew Bon Jovi would release more songs, despite leaving fans waiting for three years to unveil their latest LP 'This House Is Not For Sale'.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, Jon - who is joined by Tico Torres and David Bryan in the 'Bad Medicine' group - said: ''Fortunately I've been blessed to be prolific enough that I can spit burning bridges out in a couple of weeks and then we made this record.''

Watch Jon Bon Jovi Join A Wedding Band On-Stage To Sing 'Livin' On A Prayer'

Jon Bon Jovi

‘80s rock star Jon Bon Jovi got a little more than he bargained for when he attended a friend’s wedding in Miami last weekend, as he was press-ganged into joining the wedding band on-stage to sing his iconic hit ‘Livin’ On a Prayer’.

A fellow guest captured the moment on YouTube, which came as a surprise not only to everybody at the wedding reception but also to Bon Jovi himself, who had no idea he was going to be put on the spot. Like a thoroughly good sport, however, he took to the stage alongside a band led by local jazz musician Lourdes Valentin and lent his vocals to a specially arranged version of his 1986 hit.

Jon Bon Jovi Invites Cancer Patient Out For Dinner In Surprise Meet And Greet

Jon Bon Jovi

There's nothing better than seeing a world famous superstar humble themselves enough to visit one of their biggest fans, and Jon Bon Jovi is the latest to do just that when he took time out of his busy schedule to hang out with a woman currently struggling with stage four lung cancer.

Jennifer Lopez Serenades Tyrant - But She Ain't The First

Jennifer Lopez has apologized for serenading the controversial Turkmenistan leader Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov at his 56th birthday celebration. A concert put together on behalf of China National Petroleum Corp for entertainment executives working in Turkmenistan, according to a statement from Lopez's representative obtained by E! Online.

Jennifer LopezJennifer Lopez Made A Huge Error Of Judgement

The issue here, of course, is that Mr Berdymukhamedov has an atrocious human rights record and has ruled the country with an iron fist for years - living in luxury while the vast majority of Turkemenistan's inhabitants have nothing. According to a statement by the Human Rights Foundation, he is ranked as one of the nine "worst of the worst" dictators on the planet, while Transparcency International ranks the country as a bottom-seven country in their Corruption Perception Index. Reporters Without Borders label Berdymukhamedov as a "predator of press freedom" and ranks Turkmenistan as the world's third-worst place for journalist, sitting uncomfortably between Syria, North Korea and Eritrea. The leader's 97% landslide in the recent election was apparently so fraudulent that the OSCE declined to even send observers to look over it.

Richie Sambora Didn't Jump Off The Bon Jovi Tour, He Was Pushed.

Richie Sambora Bon Jovi Jon Bon Jovi

By now it’s common knowledge that Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora will not be joining the band on their world tour.

But the reason might not be financial issues, as previously reported. Instead, a report by The New Your Post points to the possibility that Jon Bon Jovi refused to have Sambora on the tour, in an effort to keep it clean and drug-free. Last year, Bon Jovi’s daughter was rushed to hospital after a suspected heroin overdose and the singer has supposedly promised his wife that there would be no substance abuse on this tour. Apparently that means Sambora is off the list. A source told the Post “Jon has been trying to get rid of him. He drinks constantly and has a stream of Hollywood bimbos around all the time. At the urging of his wife, Dorothea, Bon Jovi wants to keep the tour free of booze and drugs”.

Sambora has taken a trip to rehab twice before, but it doesn’t seem to have stuck. The source added “he told me that he didn’t believe in rehab. He really is a hard partier, and so are the women he hangs out with”. And while that may be typical rockstar behavior (or so we’re told by every biopic ever), it’s not going to cut it for this tour. Instead, Richie will be replaced in the tour lineup by guitarist Theofilos Xenidis – at least until April 25th. No plans have been announced after that date.

Bruce Springsteen And The Rolling Stones Among The Lineup Of Sandy Benefit Concert

Rolling Stones Jon Bon Jovi Bruce Springsteen Jon Stewart Adam Sandler Alicia Keys The Who Sir Paul McCartney Nirvana Mick Jagger

A slew of New York natives, as well as plenty of Brits performed at last night’s 12-12-12 benefit concert for victims of Hurricane Sandy, which ripped through the city in October.

Bruce Springsteen, a Jersey man himself, took the stage first with Land of Hope and Dreams followed by the evocative Wrecking Ball and the very aptly themed My City in Ruins, all of which was meant to address the rebuilding process and the NY spirit. The musician spoke fondly of his native New Jersey, mentioning its inclusiveness. “I pray that this chraracteristic remains the same” Springsteen went on to say, before going into Born to Run, for which he was joined on stage by Jon Bon Jovi, another Jersey resident.

The concert was definitely geared towards classic rock fans – a smart marketing decision, since this is also the demographic with the highest disposable income. Besides a number of to-the-bone New Yorkers, like Jon Stewart, Adam Sandler and Alicia Keys, it also featured an unexpectedly high number of appearances by British musicians – The Who and Sir Paul McCartney among others. The ex-Beatle joined the surviving members of Nirvana onstage for a cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Dr Dre Top List Of Highest Paid Musicians

Dr Dre Roger Waters Elton John Jon Bon Jovi Britney Spears Sir Paul McCartney Taylor Swift Justin Bieber Toby Keith

Dr Dre has become the highest earning musician of the year according to Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid musicians of 2012.

The rapper, who has been working on the follow-up to 1999's 2001 for an unprecedented time, has scooped up a whopping $110 million in pretax earnings over the year, and no prizes for guessing that his Beats by Dre headphones are at the root of his earning power. The majority of his massive earnings this year come down to the sale of 51% of his Beats company to mobile phone maker HTC, who bought a controlling stake in the business for $300 million earlier this year, around $100 million of which went to Dre.

Whilst Dre taking the top spot may have come as a surprise to some, the rest of the list is even more surprising with a number of musical icons proving that they still have massive earning power despite not maintaining the popularity they once had. Number two in the chart, Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, is no exception to this, as he scooped in a massive $80 million this year alone, largely due to his ongoing work with The Wall Live Tour.

After Rough Week, Bon Jovi Announces 2013 North American Tour

Jon Bon Jovi broke his silence on his daughter Stephanie's drug overdose and subsequent arrest this week, saying his family are "doing well" after the tragedy. As you'll know by now, the 19-year-old was unresponsive when paramedics arrived at her Hamilton College dorm room last week, though she luckily recovered in hospital.

Stephanie was arrested after a small amount of heroin and marijuana was found in her room, though the charges were dropped thanks to a governmental scheme encouraging people to call for help if they suspect someone is overdosing. Of the scary incident, Bon Jovi told Fox, "What I do for a living seems glitzy and glamorous but if you don't take it too seriously it's a great way to make a living. And then life goes on. Things happen." Anyway, Stephanie seems to have made a full recovery, allowing Bon Jovi to concentrate on his day job. The band will be heading out on another of its globe-spanning arena tours, announcing the first dates this week. The Because We Can tour will kick off in Uncasville, Connecticut on February 9, 2012, and run through till late July with stops at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and the Staples Center on April 19, 2012. Randy Phillips, President and CEO of AEG Live said, "As AEG Live embarks on its fourth collaboration with one of today's greatest original rock bands, it is no surprise that they are going to sell out stadiums and arenas around the globe, since Bon Jovi has consistently delivered the goods to their hardcore and new fans alike."

As if to stick two massive fingers up at the Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi make it clear on their website that a "wide range of ticket options" will be available, starting at a mere $19.50.

Stars Show Support For Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together Telethon

A Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together Telethon was held last night in the hopes of bringing relief to the millions affected when Hurricane Sandy ripped through the East Coast of America.

NBC aired a commercial-free telethon last night (Nov 2) live from storm-ravaged Staten Island, with Matt Lauer helming the celeb fest that urged viewers across America to pledge what they could and help the millions suffering from the storm.

Christina Aguilera got things started, entering a dark stage and delivering a powerful, stripped down version of ‘Beautiful.’ After the Staten Island native’s performance, a rolling montage of just some of the destruction was played, ending with a still of the once bustling Jersey Shore, after which Jersey native Jon Bon Jovi gave acoustic performances of ‘Who Says You Can’t Go Home’ and ‘Living on a Prayer’ with guitarist Bob Bandiera and Lorenza Ponce on the violin.

Matt Lauer: We Need Springsteen And Bon Jovi, Pronto!

Bruce Springsteen Matt Lauer Christina Aguilera Jon Bon Jovi

Today show host Matt Lauer personally urged NBC Universal CEO Steve Burke to orchestrate a musical event for the victims of Hurricane Sandy, according to USA Today. Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together will air live from the Rockefeller Center on Friday (November 2, 2012), featuring performances from Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Jon Bon Jovi, Sting, Mary J Blige and Christina Aguilera.

New York and New Jersey were devastated by the storm and stars associated with both areas, including Kevin Bacon, Tiny Fey, James Gandolfini, Jon Stewart and Jimmy Fallon will also appear at the event, which aims to raise money for victims of the hurricane. Lauer said it was a tour of a neighbourhood in Rockaway Beach, Queens, that made him put his plans into action.  "I came back and said, 'We've got to do something quickly here," said Lauer says. "I feared facing a period next week where the focus would be blurred. We've got an election coming up, and I feared people affected by this would be pushed to the side." He then said that unlike many television rivals, NBC was "a very New York-centered media company" adding, "you can't live in New York without being struck by what a big thing this is." A post 9/11 telethon arranged by George Cloone, which aired on all of the major networks, raised at estimated $200 million. Friday's special will air on NBC as well as cable networks it owns including Bravo, E!, HBO, Syfy and Discovery Fit & Health.

As for the set-lists, Lauer said "the songs are going to be instantly recognizable."

£12.50 Stadium Tickets? Bon Jovi Show The Rolling Stones How To REALLY Treat Your Fans

Bon Jovi Jon Bon Jovi Rolling Stones

All hail Jon Bon Jovi! The People’s Rocker has announced that his band Bon Jovi will play a string of UK tour dates in 2013 and prices will start from as little as £12.50. That’s right! £12.50 for a stadium show. Did you hear that, Mick Jagger? Twelve. Pounds. Fifty.

As music fans are still reeling from the prices that The Rolling Stones were charging £90 for the lowliest of tickets at their O2 Arena show next month, Bon Jovi’s news will come as a very pleasant – and affordable – surprise. Bon Jovi will be releasing a new album next year, entitled What About Now and according to a story from Manchester Evening News, the low ticket prices are a “thank you” to their fans. In times of economic struggle for so many, it’s a welcome gesture.

In their 30 year career, Bon Jovi have played a reported 2,700 concerts, in 50 different countries and have reached over 35 million fans in doing so. Next year, the band will play Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on June 8, followed by Villa Park, Birmingham on June 9, City Stadium in Cardiff on June 12, Stadium of Light in Sunderland on June 13 and Hampden Park in Glasgow on July 3. The ‘presale’ for tickets will start online at www.bonjovi.com at 6pm tonight (October 30, 2012). The presale is open to members of the fansite, who will be able to apply for Backstage tickets and VIP packages. Though presumably they’re going to cost a touch more than the base price of £12.50.

Katy Perry, Jennifer Hudson And Stevie Wonder Among The Stars At Barack Obama's Democrat Fundraising Concert

Katy Perry Jennifer Hudson Stevie Wonder Jon Bon Jovi George Clooney Wolfgang Puck

Katy Perry, Jennifer Hudson and Stevie Wonder were among the star names to perform at a fundraiser for President Barack Obama's democrats at a concert titled '30 Days To Victory.' With additional appearances by Earth, Wind And Fire as well as Jon Bon Jovi and George Clooney, Obama was pulling all the stops out to regain ground following his listless performance in the debate last week against his presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

However, Obama was more than willing to admit he didn't meet expectations during last week's discussion; taking to the Nokia Theater in California, the Prez joked "Everybody here is incredible professionals, they're such great friends and they just perform flawlessly night after night. I can't always say the same." Obama also pointed out that the road to the 2008 election wasn't easy either, saying, "everybody always remembers the victory, but they don't always remember the bumps in the road. Things always look good in retrospect. But in the middle of it we made all kinds of mistakes. We goofed up. I goofed up. But the American people carried us forward."

There were nearly 6,000 people in attendance for the concert, with tickets going at a cool $250 each. Obama also appeared at a private dinner for just 150 guests at celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck's restaurant WP24; tickets for that were somewhat more expensive at $25,000 a pop.

New Year's Eve Review

Terrible
The team that made the thin-but-enjoyable Valentine's Day in 2010 reunites for another massively overextended rom-com with a remarkable A-list ensemble. But this time the stories and filmmaking overdose on ill-conceived schmaltz.

As the countdown to 2012 begins, an executive (Swank) is frazzled about a technical glitch in the iconic Time's Square ball-drop. Meanwhile, a courier (Efron) is trying to help a frumpy secretary (Pfeiffer) achieve her dreams. A chef (Heigl) is catering a glittering event while trying to avoid her rock star ex (Bon Jovi), whose back-up singer (Michele) is stuck in a lift with a lovelorn slacker (Kutcher). A mother (Parker) is worried about her teen daughter (Breslin). And a tuxedoed millionaire (Duhamel) is trying to get to an important event in the city.

U-571 Review

Good
It's finally time to reassess the submarine movie to see if it's outlived its useful life. I was skeptical enough when Crimson Tide came out in 1995, feeling like a knockoff of The Hunt for Red October, itself an homage to Das Boot, it something of an homage to Run Silent, Run Deep. They even made Down Periscope, which four years of therapy have not helped me to forget.

U-571 takes the Das Boot path, starring a dozen of the sweatiest men in Hollywood (the makeup department working overtime on this one), all led by everyone's favorite naked bongo player, Matthew McConaughey. Loosely based on real events, U-571 involves a WWII mission to capture a German Enigma encryption device from a sinking German submarine adrift in the middle of the Atlantic. Skipper Bill Paxton and his 2nd in charge McConaughey hop to the task, dressing up their wreck of a sub to look just like a German U-boat. One guy on the crew speaks German, so there shouldn't be a problem in posing as a rescue ship, right?

Pay It Forward Review

Good
The very idea behind Pay It Forward -- that when someone does an enormous good deed for you should pay it "forward" to three other, unsuspecting persons -- requires what is described in the film as "an extreme act of faith in the goodness of people."

It's safe to say that your enjoyment of the film is bound by this same rule. Dyed-in-the-wool film critics like myself have been down this road once or twice before, and the enormous leap of faith it takes to convince oneself that, deep down, even "bad" people are good makes me want to reach for my DVD of A Clockwork Orange.

Bad
AOL Instant Messenger has denied me the following screennames on the basis that someone else has them: "Bicker4," "PhantomK678," "GrizzMan," "Korgon27," "Giglifan2," and "PandaBear." Besides the heartbreak that I suffered because I couldn't express my love for Bic Lighters, this denial led me to a very generic name that I have only stuck with out of laziness. So, the fact that the killer in Jeff Wadlow's Cry_Wolf simply got the screenname "Wolf" without a number or extra letter attached sticks out as inaccurate in a film already full to the brim with improbability and inconsistencies.

The movie concerns a group of bored, privileged high school students at a private school. This particular group has a love for games about lying, which they come together to play once a week. All is hunky dory in their group until their ringleader Dodger (Lindy Booth) brings in an outsider named Owen (Julian Morris), a British newbie who got kicked out of his last school for drug possession and for getting a bit too close to the headmaster's daughter. In a flash of creativity, the group cooks up one big lie for the entire school to fall into, involving the murder of a local townie. The lie is simple: A serial killer called The Wolf is terrorizing campus and will strike again when the full moon is out. Suddenly, strange messages show up, people's rooms are wrecked, and people are running for their lives away from a person dressed to fit the description of The Wolf.

Homegrown Review

OK
Movies about marijuana are historically slapsticky, funny romps (see the Cheech and Chong oeuvre). Homegrown probably started out that way, then turned into a typical drug thriller, only set in the northern California hippie community. Message to producers: Hank Azaria is a comedian, not a gun-toting action hero.
