Rocker Jon Bon Jovi Called For Fairer Wages For New Yorkers During A Surprise Appearance At A Rally By The City's Governor Andrew Cuomo On Thursday (11jun15).
The politician was campaigning to promote a new wage board designed to increase pay for fast food staff in the Big Apple, and the Bon Jovi star gave a speech backing the project.
The Livin' on a Prayer hitmaker told delegates, "Raising wages is about fairness. It's about giving more hard working New Yorkers more of a shot at making ends meet. The economy has come back, but not for all Americans. This issue is about paying people a living wage, while addressing the real cost of living."
Officials on the New York wage board are expected to announce their recommendations next month (Jul15).
