Josh Brolin has turned into a ''control freak'' since he started planning his wedding.

The 47-year-old actor wants everything to run as smoothly as possible when he ties the knot with his fiancée Kathryn Boyd in the near future, so much so that he has taken over everything to do with organising their big day.

Speaking to E! news, he said of planning their wedding: ''I'm the guy who has to force himself to back off!''

He added: ''I'm such a control freak and I want to control everything. It's not even that I want to control it - I just want to be in the middle of it. I want to be in the nucleus of it because that's the fun part. That's the nectar.''

Despite cracking on with arranging their special day, the 'Labor Day' star has admitted he and his beautiful partner are yet to set a date for the nuptials.

He explained: ''We're still in the midst of figuring out the best time and all that stuff, but it's very exciting.''

The couple, who reportedly began dating in March 2013, are believed to have got engaged in March this year and celebrated their happy news with a group of pals in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in May.

Meanwhile, Josh was also previously married to Diane Lane and 'Beverly Hills Cop II' actress Alice Adair, with whom he has children Trevor, 26, and Eden, 20.
