Josh Homme's former Kyuss bandmates are "shocked and saddened" the rocker has hit them with a lawsuit over the group's name.
The Queens of the Stone Age frontman played guitar in Kyuss until the band split in 1995, but he launched legal action after singer John Garcia and drummer Brant Bjork reformed the group last year (11) under the moniker Kyuss Lives!
In the suit, Homme and his fellow former Kyuss star Scott Reeder accuse the pair of "trademark infringement and consumer fraud" for using the name.
But Garcia and Bjork have now responded to the allegation, admitting they're stunned.
The pair tells Spin.com, "We are both shocked and saddened that our friend and one time band mate has chosen to file a lawsuit against us, especially after having positive discussions since our reformation. We look forward to resolving this private matter behind closed doors and moving forward with work on our new album and connecting with our amazing, loyal fans."
