Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell is fuming after a conman gained access to his hotel room and made off with a collection of valuables.
The musician was performing with the London Philharmonic in Zaragoza, Spain on Wednesday (29Feb12) when a burglar, posing as Bell, conned hotel clerks into giving him a room key.
Once inside the suite, the criminal allegedly called down to staffers and requested help in opening the safe - and they were only too happy to oblige.
The thief then walked off with cash, Bell's laptop and various personal belongings, as well as the musician's pricey Breguet watch, worth an estimated $38,000 (£23,750).
The incident is currently under police investigation and Bell is fuming.
He tells Tmz.com, "I was amazed at how easy it was for this to occur."
