Fact: Journey star NEAL SCHON will open for his own band when the act tours Canada next month (Jul15). The guitarist will hit the stage with Jerry Brooks, Rachel Hakim and drummer Omar Hakim, who recently stepped in to the Journey line-up as a replacement for Deen Castronovo, to promote his new solo album Vortex.

Fact: Styx and Journey are set to hit the high seas together on the latest rock festival cruise. The classic rock acts will headline next year's (15) third annual Carnival Live Concert Series, which will offer fans the chance to see their favourite groups perform while travelling from U.S. ports to the Caribbean. Journey are set to appear on a trip to St. Thomas in March (15), while Styx will perform in Nassau four times in June (15).

Fact: Journey and Rascal Flatts have joined the Super Bowl celebrations - the two groups will co-headline the CMT Crossroads concert at the New Orleans Sugar Mill in Lousiana on 2 February (13). The gig will take place on the eve of the big game between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. Alicia Keys will perform the National Anthem before the match and Beyonce will headline the half-time show.

Fact: American Idol star Randy Jackson landed his first big break when he was asked to play bass for JUDY IN DISGUISE hitmakers JOHN FRED & THE PLAYBOYS in the mid-1970s. The talent show judge also played for jazz fusion star BILLY COBHAM and rockers Journey. He boasts he's either played on, written for or produced between 800 and 1,000 albums.
