Julia Roberts has joined the cast of the currently untitled 'Snow White' movie, directed by Tarsem Singh.
JULIA ROBERTS, the American OSCAR winning actress, will play the 'Evil Queen' in one of three rivals 'Snow White' projects currently in the works, according to the Hollywood Reporter.The actress has signed on to star in the modern adaptation of the classic fairy tale and shooting on the project is set to begin in April 2011. The story will follow Snow White as she looks to take revenge on her stepmother, who has killed her father. Roberts recently starred alongside Javier Bardem in 'Eat Pray Love' and she is set to appear in 'Larry Crowne', the forthcoming comedy starring Tom Hanks. The new 'Snow White' movie is tentatively scheduled for release in 29th June 2012.
Meanwhile, Disney is moving ahead with its own Snow White project, set in 19th century China. Universal also have plans for a similar movie named 'Snow White and the Huntsman' and have reportedly approached Kristen Stewart to play the lead role. South African actress Charlize Theron has already been confirmed to play 'The Ice Queen'
