Six Of The Worst Grammatically Incorrect Song Lyrics

Ariana Grande Justin Timberlake Lady GaGa Timbaland

Everybody loves a good pop song, but sometimes you can’t help but cringe when the lyrics are just  bad beyond comprehension. Pop obviously isn't exactly known for its strengths in the lyric department, but it’s hard to ignore when lyrics aren’t just bad - they’re grammatically incorrect, too.

Ariana Grande TCAAriana Grande and Max Martin fought over grammatically incorrect lyrics in 'Break Free'

Believe it or not, the actual artists behind the songs may feel the same way, too. Ariana Grande recently spoke about the arguments in the studio that she had with producer Max Martin while recording her new album, My Everything. The issue? Some of the lyrics to her recent single, ‘Break Free,’ made no sense at all. “I fought him on it the whole time,” Grande said to Time. “‘I am not going to sing a grammatically incorrect lyric, help me, God!’ Max was like, ‘It’s funny — just do it!’” Grande eventually gave in to Martin’s demands, singing lines like “Now that I’ve become who I really are,” and “I only wanna die alive.”

Nice Guy Justin Timberlake Strikes Again: How A Stadium Sang "Happy Birthday" To An 8-Year-Old Boy

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake just proved – yet again – what a cool guy he is. After all, it’s not every day that a performer will interrupt their gig and get a packed stadium to sing “Happy Birthday” to an 8-year-old boy. Julian Delan, who was diagnosed with high-functioning autism in 2014, wanted nothing more for his birthday this year than to see JT in concert.

Julian's mother and father bought him tickets to the San Jose gig and later shared videos of the impromptu birthday celebration. His mother, Marika Rosenthal Delan blogged about the memorable night on the website The Manifest Station. She thanked the group of young women in front of the family that night for getting Timberlake’s attention over the screaming crowd and letting Julian have his moment of glory.

After 'Bang Bang,' What Are Some Of The Best Triple Threat Pop Songs?

Jessie J Nicki Minaj Ariana Grande Timbaland Justin Timberlake

The only thing better than one pop star on a song is three, right? How about a combination of Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj - ALL on one track? It's what we got with the newly released 'Bang Bang' single, and it's proving that songs like these need to be happen more often.

Bang Bang Group'Bang Bang' was released on July 29

Released this week, the single featuring Jessie, Nicki, and Ari is an easy frontrunner for "Song of the Summer," and hell, maybe even pop song of the year. It'll be included on Jessie J's upcoming album this fall, as well as in the deluxe edition of Grande's new record, My Everything, so 'Bang Bang' isn't going away anytime soon. But what makes it so great? A mix of all the unique qualities in the girls - Jessie's explosive vocals, Grande's sassy croon, and Minaj's signature fierce rap verse makes for a track that only gets better with every listen. Coupled with the glossy production of mastermind producer Max Martin, 'Bang Bang' simply can't not be a hit. It's even being touted as 'Lady Marmalade 2.0' - the juggernaut number one smash in 2004 that featured Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya, and Pink. Arguably, 'Bang Bang' outshines that track in every way possible, and having three vs. four is just easier to listen to. With that said, which songs are the best triple threats in pop music over the past couple of years?

Beyoncé's statement did little to explain her sister's violence but her newly-posted family photos do a good job of sweeping it all under the rug, for better or worse.

Justin Timberlake Thanked Everyone In His Billboard Speech. EXCEPT Donald Sterling

Justin Timberlake Magic Johnson

When Justin Timberlake won the Top Artist honor at Sunday’s Billboard awards, he was very generous with his “hank you” messages. In fact, he thanked everyone – everyone, except disgraced LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling. Last week, Sterling made a half-hearted apology for his offensive comments from last month. His sincerity was eroded somewhat by the fact that he dissed Magic Johnson in the process.

Justin Timberlake
JT dropped a truth bomb at the Billboard Awards Sunday.

Apparently hoping to divert attention from his own PR blunders, Sterling said in his CNN interview: “Well, what kind of a guy goes to every city, has sex with every girl, then he catches HIV? Is that someone we want to respect and tell our kids about? I think he should be ashamed of himself. I think he should go into the background. But what does he do for the black people? He doesn’t do anything.”

Justin Timberlake Seaks Candidly About Decision To Leave N' Sync: "It Was Bittersweet"

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake shocked the pop music world back in 2002 when he decided to leave N' Sync.

The 33 year-old singer was highly criticized for departing the boy band, but once his debut album 'Justified' became such a huge success, it was obvious he was meant to be a solo artist.

However, without knowing this beforehand, more than a decade later, many people still wonder why Timberlake left N' Sync in the first place.

Michael Jackson - Love Never Felt So Good Single Review

'Love Never Felt So Good', the first single from Michael Jackson’s long awaited posthumous album, Xscape has been given its debut at the iHeart Radio awards. The single sees Justin Timberlake duet with Jackson on the track that he originally demoed in 1983. So now we've had a listen, what's the verdict? Has Jackson never felt so good or does he need to Xscape from Timberlake?

Michael Jackson - Love Never Felt So Good Ft. Justin Timberlake

Firstly we can’t technically call ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ a new track. The song was written by Jackson with Paul Anka and originally demoed in 1983. Still this version has been updated and produced by John McCalin with some extra vocals added by Justin Timberlake, so it is pretty much 'new'.

Re-mastering and producing the material left behind by Michael Jackson is an unenviable task, just the slightest change to Jackson’s well known sound could incur the wrath of the King of Pop’s legion of fans. Luckily the first thing you notice when listening to ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ is that it’s unmistakably Jackson. Better than that, it’s vintage Jackson, and fits in perfectly with his early 80’s output from when it was originally recorded.

Now this is an interesting tidbit of movie trivia: Conor Oberst has revealed that he auditioned for the lead role in folk music comedy-drama, Inside Llewyn Davis. "I know I told you this when we met, but I tried out for your role in Inside Llewyn Davis," Oberst told Isaac for Interview magazine. "Thank god for everyone that I didn't get it." Perhaps one of the main reasons Oberst failed to convince the Coen Brothers that he was best suited for the role was because of his non-existent acting C.V. which could have proved risky to take on in such a challenging lead role.

Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampire in the City

Vampire Weekend 'Modern Vampire in the City' - 'Modern Vampires in the City' makes it three for three for the New Yorkers and their latest release could very well be their best yet. It shows evolution for the band, but they have retained that essential quality that made 'Contra' and their self-titled debut such wonderfully upbeat and genuine pleasures to listen to each time. 'Modern Vampire in the City' is also the release that marks Vampire Weekend as a band that should be taken seriously, but one who you can still have immense fun with. 'Diane Young' is yet another indie floor filler, standing shoulder to shoulder with previous bangers 'A-Punk' and 'Cousins.' Where the album really excels, however, is when VW reach out to new quarters and sound completely inimitable. The yelps of 'Ya Hey' bring fun to a song that essentially deals with the theme of lost conviction, the graceful 'Hanna Hunt' erupts in the most complete song released this year and album opener 'Obvious Bicycle' sets the whole thing in motion with its refreshingly angelic melodies and steady, train-like clunks that lie beneath all the splendour. Vampire Weekend are no longer the Brooklyn minions rattling at the gates of eminence, the gates have been swung open for them and the welcoming committee should have made them feel rightly at home.

Despite Fallon being an SNL alumn himself, he wasn’t spared from having to brave the NY cold and record some promos for the Dec 21 event alongside Kenan Thompson and Kate McKinnon. And we’re glad for that, because, predictably, Fallon’s promos are pretty hilarious.

Though Fallon and Thompson would be forgiven, since they were apparently forced to stand in the snow (or pigeon droppings, as Jimmy joked in true NY style) for hours to film those promos.

Inside Llewyn Davis Review

Excellent

The Coen brothers have a wry twinkle in their eyes as they take us on a lyrical journey with a hugely likeable musician for whom success is only barely out of reach. It's also an engaging exploration of both the the early 1960s New York folk music scene that gave us Bob Dylan and the tenacity it takes to make your dreams come true.

It's 1961, and Llewyn Davis (Isaac) isn't sure he wants to fight anymore. His career has stalled, and he's moving from couch to couch trying to pick up gigs. But he doesn't have anything to lose, and when he inadvertently acquires a pet cat he has a bit of purpose for a change. On the other hand, his longtime friendship with husband-and-wife folk duo Jim and Jean (Timberlake and Mulligan) is strained when Jean tells him she's pregnant with a child that might be his. In need of cash, he takes a job in Chicago, taking a long road-trip with two nutcases (Hedlund and Goodman). And he even considers re-enlisting in the Merchant Marines.

Despite Llewyn's quiet desperation, the Coens keep the film's tone light and endearing, with constant comical touches that keep us smiling right to the cleverly elliptical ending. They also pack the movie with folk music that's gorgeously produced by T Bone Burnett, offering emotive counterpoints to Llewyn's sardonic sense of humour. His snappy wit often gets him into trouble, but we can immediately see his depth of character as well, and Isaac is terrific in the role, the kind of guy we would happily spend a lot more time with.

Justin Timberlake Drake Lorde

Justin Timberlake scored his second No.1 album of the year on Wednesday (October 9, 2012) when it was announced thatThe 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 sold 350,000 copies in its first week. The first instalment sold 968,000 copies, the biggest opening week sales of the year so far.

It's an incredible feat for the 32-year-old, who returned to music after a five-year hiatus during which he turned in some decent movie performances. The albums charting at No.1 is an achievement in itself, though the volume of sales proves both Timberlake's enduring popularity and the healthy nature of the record business. Second place Drake only managed to shift 148,000 copies, while Lorde's debut Pure Heroine moved 129,000.

Earlier this year, Timberlake had returned with new single Suit & Tie, featuring rapper Jay-Z. It became a chart-topper and The 20/20 Experience was adored by both critics and fans.

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake’s domination of 2013 continues as the singer reaches No.1 with his new album ‘20/20 Experience Part 2 of 2’.

The album is the highly anticipated sequel to the release of ’20/20 Experience’ back in March (2013) and in its first week of release it reaches the top spot on the Billboard album chart.

‘Part 2’ seems to be repeating the same success as the first instalment as JT’s new set sold 350,000 copies since its release at the end of September (27th), according to Nielson SoundScan.

Haim Justin Timberlake

Haim and Justin Timberlake battled it out in one of the most closely contested fights for the top of the UK album chart this weekend, with the all-girl trio only just managing to out muscle Justin's second album of 2013. Earlier this week, it was Justin who led the girls, but after a long-fought weekend it was the 'Don't Save Me' hit-makers who were able to finish the week as the no. 1 artist in the UK.

According to the Official UK Album Chart, Haim managed to score 2,100 more sales of their debut album, Days Are Gone, than Justin's The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2, which at one point in the week had led the girls by just 28 copies. Ultimately though, it was the three piece from Los Angeles who made the top spot, making Justin have to wait before he can claim his fourth UK number one album.

Gravity has proved to be the unlikely success story of early October thanks to the overwhelming word-of-mouth success. Having been heralded by the internet long before it was given it's official release on Friday, 4 October, the film rode out it's first weekend stay at the box office with immense success, gaining further praise and breaking the October box office record along the way.

Gravity has soared to success

Starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, both of whom (Bullock in particular) are being touted for awards success thanks to their performances in the film, Gravity has been described as an out of this world ocular treat, held together thanks to the gripping direction of Alfonso Cuaron and the performance of the two stars. This critical and internet-fuelled momentum has seen the film smash previous box office records for the month of October by bringing in an estimated $55.6 million over the weekend. As well as beating the record previously held by Paranormal Activity 3, the film is also the best opening for both of the film's stars, beating The Heat and Batman and Robin respectively.
