Justin Timberlake made his triumphant return to Saturday Night Live this weekend (9 March) in what was his fifth appearance on the hit comedy show. As JT entered the '5th Timers' club, he ascended into a selective group featuring an army of comedy legends - many of whom came out for the big night night.

In a sketch featuring many of the other '5 timers' from the show's history, Justin rubbed shoulders with Tom Hanks, Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Candice Bergen, Paul Simon, Candice Bergen and Dan Akroyd (who was only around to tend bar), before having the Three Amigos (Chase, Martin and Martin Short) themselves introduce Justin to the stage to perform his new single 'Mirrors'. Dressed in full Amigo attire, the trio of comedy all-stars gleefully ushered JT to the stage for one performance, with Justin also performing 'Suit and Tie' on the night. Whilst there were no comedy snippets for this performance, Jay Z did show up to deliver his verse.

As is the power of JT, he managed to pull in the biggest audience the show has seen in over a year. The official numbers haven't been released yet, but for those of you who can understand the jargon Justin managed to pull in an audience rating of 5.9 among metered-market households and a 15 share with a 3.7 rating among adults 18-49. That roughly means that Justin's appearance brought in well over 10 million viewers and he also smashed the record originally held by Charles Barkley's hosting number in January last year. The return of Justin Timberlake really is a big deal it seems, and not just in music terms either.
