In a pleasing irony Kaley Cuoco, who plays The Big Bang Theory's Penny, has started to date superhero and Man of Steel hunk, Henry Cavill. The pair have confirmed their relationship by being pictured out and about in California, hiking, grocery shopping and generally looking comfortable by each other's side.

After a refreshing hike through the hills, the loved-up pair went for sushi near Cuoco's home in Sherman Oaks, reports The Daily Mail. According to insiders, the stars are trying to keep their relationship "hush hush" despite spending the last few days together in public yet Cuoco sparked interest when she went to fetch her morning coffee - but bought two. Regardless of attempts to keep a low profile the couple, who were pictured smiling and holding hands, seem happy with the press attention and are happy to let the world new about their exciting new romance.

It's not known how and where the couple met but they both share the same Beverly Hills-based publicity firm, Viewpoint Inc., which could have helped things along. It has been speculated that 27 year-old Cuoco bears a striking similarity to 30 year-old Cavill's ex-girlfriend, Ellen Whitaker from whom he split when he began working on Man of Steel. Not only do the two look similar, they both share a keen interest in horses with Cavill and Whitaker meeting 2009 Olympia International Horse Show and Cuoco, an avid horse rider, having been spotted riding at equestrian centres.

Cuoco is known for her role as the attractive but somewhat air-headed Penny in The Big Bang Theory who is oblivious to comic books and nerd culture and has to field attention from a group of scientists who often cosplay to emulate their superhero idols. Cavill showed that it's not just his Kryptonian character who has a heart of gold as he paused to sign fan autographs whilst helping Cuoco with her groceries.

No coordinating outfits but wonder if they're at the finishing-each-other's-sentences stage yet?
