Mumford & Sons have been nominated for six awards at the Grammy Awards 2013.

The British folk-rockers have taken the nominations by storm with their track 'I Will Wait' up for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance, album 'Babel' a potential winner for Best Americana Album and Album of the Year, 'Learn Me Right' -a track for Pixar film 'Brave' - nominated for Best Song Written For Visual Media, and their concert video 'Big Easy Express' a contender for Best Long Form Music Video.

Other artists also announced at the nominations event in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday evening (05.12.12) to be up for a whopping six awards apiece are rappers Kanye West and Jay-Z.

The Black Keys and Miguel are just behind with five nominations and indie newcomers Fun. are up for an impressive four prizes; Record of the Year and Song of the Year for their single 'We Are Young', which features Janelle Monae, Album of the Year for their debut 'Some Nights', and Best New Artist.

After their performance at the nominations event, fun. frontman Nate Ruess announced: ''Tonight, all I wanted to do was get up and really give it our all receiving the nomination is amazing and a culmination of hard work the three of us have put into this band.''

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran's 'The A Team' is nominated for Song of the Year and Ed excitedly took to his Twitter, posting: ''A team. A song I wrote with no home, no money, anything, nominated or best record at the Grammys. A dream come true. Ecstatic xxx (sic)''

The 55th annual Grammy Awards are to be held in Los Angeles on February 10 2013 with 81 categories in total.
