Kanye West headlined at the Wireless Festival at Finsbury Park in London on Friday and Saturday (4th and 5th July) but the audience was less than impressed when he launched into yet another of his egomaniacal rants. They responded by booing his performances on both nights. Let's hope he finally takes the hint.
Does anyone truly want to see Kanye West perform? It certainly doesn't seem like it at the moment. The rapper and husband of reality star Kim Kardashian has been booed at two festivals within the last month.
West's bizarre speeches have not been received well by audiences.
The first time was at the Bonaroo Festival in Tennessee on 13th June where West performed, ranted and was subsequently booed. But he suffered the same fate whilst performing at the Wireless Festival in London on Friday and Saturday night. The rapper was initially slated to headline on Friday but Saturday's headliner, Drake, was forced to pull out at the last minute due to illness.
Boos interrupted West's appearance at Wireless on both nights, mainly due to his lack of performance and painful attempts at motivational speaking. As the Mirror reports, on Friday West treated the audience to twenty minute long speech in which he shared his thoughts on discrimination within the fashion industry.
Whilst the following night, West decided to enlighten the audience on just how fabulous he is and how much he sacrifices for them. West reportedly said "The only reason I'm on this stage right now is because y'all my clique. You know I go to the studio till 3am so you can listen to the music in your car."
West wasn't anywhere near as "shy" in Sweden (pictured here) as he was at Wireless.
He further enraged fans by demanding the large screens at either side of the stage were switched off which effectively meant only those at the very front could see his performance, or lack of it. He claimed, bizarrely, that he's "shy". Then explained by addressing two aspects of his personality of which we were all aware, "Sometimes it's hard because I'm too shy to carry off a lot. I'm arrogant and shy and a little bit lazy."
The faux shyness is definitely a new personality trait. But it's good he has three whole traits now so it should hopefully create a little variation.
