Just adorable. Kate Beckinsale has enlisted her ex-partner and close friend Michael Sheen to recreate the 1999 birth photo of their daughter Lily Mo - despite said child now being 16 to 17-years-old. Sometimes even the biggest of stars can get a bit silly where their children are concerned.

The photo sees Lily cuddling up to her mother with her eyes closed in a perfect mirroring of her birth shot. Beckinsale posted the photo alongside the original on Twitter and Instagram today (May 18th 2016), captioning it: 'Always a baby to me #Lily'. However, she did allude to it being a joke by adding: 'See more tonight on 'The Late Late Show'' (a comedy show hosted by British presenter James Corden).

47-year-old Sheen and 42-year-old Beckinsale don't look too different from the 1999 photo; the latter does look more mature but just as breathtakingly beautiful (if not, more), and there's a grey tinge to Sheen's unchanged curly mop, a few wrinkles and a much more impressive beard (and he's still in a grey T-shirt). Lily, on the other hand, is much taller these days.

Beckinsale and Sheen were together from 1995 until 2003, after which they separated when Beckinsale began a relationship with her 'Underworld' director Len Wiseman. She went on to marry Wiseman in 2004, but they announced that they had filed for a divorce just last year. Meanwhile, Sheen has been dating comedienne Sarah Silverman since 2014, following his break-up with Rachel McAdams after three years in 2013. Lily Mo Sheen is both Sheen and Beckinsale's only child.

Despite their break-up thirteen years ago, the pair are still the very best of friends. 'He's absolutely one of my most favourite people ever', Beckinsale has previously stated. 'I love him dearly - I would miss him dreadfully if he wasn't in my life.'
