Kate Hudson Has Learned To Pay More Attention To The Kinds Of Foods In Her Diet Thanks To Regular Advice From Celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver.
The Almost Famous actress admits she has started to be more mindful of what goes into her body and she always picks up little tips from conversations with the Brit, who has long been vocal about the benefits of clean eating.
"I'm friends with Jamie Oliver," she explains. "We talk a lot about food and how people need to be more knowledgeable about what they're putting into their bodies because it's more than just staying fit, it's really about our health."
"If you're not mindful about sugar, high sugar intake is just the worst thing for you," the mother-of-two adds, "but I'm like, everything in moderation and that's how I approach it."
Kate has also found a regular exercise regime that works best for her and although she doesn't always find the time to squeeze in daily work out, she makes sure she keeps herself in check.
"I do a lot of Pilates," she tells People.com. "Any kind of weights and any kind of rowing is good for back workouts. And you know, also, just push-ups, like wide-arm push-ups, are good for arm and back. Simple and easy.
"(I work out) whenever I can. When you have kids in school, that's a lot easier... I just make sure that I'm consistent with it and I'm just mindful."
The 36 year old is particularly strict on herself during the holiday season, when she tends to indulge in comfort foods.
"I just keep working out," she reveals. "You can't stop. Everyone thinks there's a trick (to staying in shape), but there's no trick! The trick is, you have to be consistent.
"I'm a mindful eater. I'm a foodie, so for me, I had to try to figure out how to understand what I'm eating, and then I got really into it and I got excited what I was learning about food."
Her fresh approach to food and exercise has also left the star feeling better than she ever did in her 20s.
"I feel better all around," she claims. "I feel like I'm more clear, I feel like I've had done some good work internally, and I just feel like I'm in a nice place and enjoying life. We get to a point where we're like, 'You know what? One day we're just not gonna be here anymore, so I'm going to enjoy every second of it.'"
