Kate Middleton has awkwardly recalled the see-through dress she wore at a student fashion show while visiting her and her husband Prince William's former university St Andrews.

While attending a dinner at London's Middle Temple, she told one student from the university, 'I hope you weren't involved in the fashion show. You never know what you are going to be asked to wear!' She was, of course, referring to the flimsy see-through number (that was actually a skirt) that she donned over a simple black strapless bra and briefs during a fashion show in 2002 when she and William were students together. It wasn't all an embarrassing memory though, as that was the very outfit that made the royal heir fall for her. After seeing her sashay down the catwalk, his apparent reaction was to say, 'Wow, Kate's hot!' and the rest is history. Despite his approval, however, the new Duchess of Cambridge has not been seen in anything as risque since and is best known for her iconic blue dress that she wore for the official announcement of her engagement.

The London dinner was to celebrate the 600th anniversary charity appeal of the university where £100 million was raised in their student fund campaign.
