The curvaceous blonde beauty took home the top prize at the annual fashion awards in New York City, while celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe was crowned Stylist of the Year.
The 21-year-old model was embraced by her fellow fashion industry beauties as she won the award, with veteran model Christie Brinkley posing with her on the red carpet.
Clad in a figure-hugging black dress, Kate celebrated her victory, which follows her recent honour as covergirl of the 100th issue of Vanity Fair magazine.
The buxom blonde shot to fame in 2011 after appearing in Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue and has also crossed over into acting, landing a role in 'The Other Woman' with Cameron Diaz.
Elsewhere, Zac Posen was named Designer of the Year at the awards ceremony and celebrity snapper Patrick DeMarchelier took home the Best Photographer prize.
Nicole Richie fronted the ceremony, which is now in its 10th year, to mark the start of New York Fashion Week.
