Katy Perry has broken her silence on her recent split from ex-boyfriend Orlando Bloom, taking to social media to insist that there are no “villains” or “victims” in the break-up – and also to debut a new post-split haircut.

The 32 year old pop superstar announced earlier this week that she had broken up with English actor Bloom, 40, saying that the parting of ways had been amicable and that they had determined to remain friends.

“HOW BOUT A NEW WAY OF THINKING FOR 2017 U can still b friends & love ur former partners! No one's a victim or a villain, get a life y'all!” she wrote the following day (March 2nd) via her Twitter account.

Perry also seemed to take a leaf out of Miley Cyrus’ book by sporting a new pixie crop hairdo, showing off her hair on Instagram and crediting actress Michelle Williams for inspiring it.

Perry and Bloom, who started dating around this time last year after the 2016 Golden Globes, revealed that they had broken up on Wednesday (March 1st). In a joint statement, their reps said: “Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.”

It had come just 48 hours after they were photographed together at Vanity Fair’s Oscars Party.

They were rumoured to be on the verge of breaking up back in November, after it was reported that Bloom wasn’t ready for marriage and more children (he has a six year old son from his former marriage to model Miranda Kerr).

However, a source close to Perry has intimated that she was the one behind the split, because she and Bloom were on “different life paths”.
