Katy Perry is set to be joined onstage by rap icon Missy Elliott during Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show.

In reports by the New York Daily News, a deliberately unnamed source close to the performance slated Missy Elliott for a surprise appearance to duet with the 30 year old star during Sunday’s showpiece game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.

The 43 year old Grammy Award winner has had previous with Perry – she guested starred on a remix of Katy’s single ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’ back in 2011. It seems likely that this is the track the two will perform together, but don’t rule out another of Perry’s songs turned into a duet, or even some new material.

Perry had held a news conference at the Phoenix Convention Center on Thursday, and while she didn’t name any names, she hinted that she would be hooking up with an “old school” female singer. “When you hear the first ring of the chord,” she said, “I think jaws will drop and faces will melt.”

She was also unsurprisingly guarded when asked about what she had in store for fans. “It's going to be wild out there. I'm creating three or four different worlds… …I have to keep some surprises for Sunday but I'm very, very excited about this guest. I thought long and hard about it. People are not going to expect it.”

Rock guitarist Lenny Kravitz has already been confirmed by both Perry and the NFL as one of the guests during the show.

Elsewhere, Perry remained equally evasive about whether or not she would use the halftime show as an opportunity to diss Taylor Swift. Speaking about her beef during an interview with Billboard, she simply responded: “If somebody is trying to defame my character, you're going to hear about it.”
