A brand new Japanese trailer for the forthcoming Pirates of the Caribbean movie Salazar’s Revenge / Dead Men Tell No Tales has revealed Keira Knightley to be making a return to the film franchise as Elizabeth Swann, after nearly a decade’s absence.

It had originally been thought that Knightley wouldn’t be returning for the fifth instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, having not featured in any of the Disney film series since 2007’s At World’s End.

But now, in what was presumably intended to be a well-kept secret by the studio until the film’s release next month, the 32 year old actress’s character Elizabeth looks set to be reunited with Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and son Henry (Brenton Thwaites).

New pictures have surfaced of Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Mark Strong and Charles Dance starring in The Imitation Game, the World War II drama directed by Norwegian filmmaker Morten Tyldum.

The Imitation Game,’ tells the story of the life and work of one of Britain’s war heroes, Alan Turing. But Turing wasn’t a soldier battling on the front line, a pilot-navigating dogfights in the air or a medic dealing with severed limbs – he battled against insignia and encryption to break down the Nazi code, providing the Allied forces with an invaluable asset.

Samuel Jackson knows the words of the gospel, or at least Ezekiel 25:17. The actor appeared on The Graham Norton Show on Friday night (13th June) and recited his famous speech from Pulp Fiction perfectly.

Samuel L Jackson played hit man Jules Winnfield in the cult classic.

Norton was joined by Jackson and actress Keira Knightley on the show. Jackson is currently in the UK promoting awareness for male cancer in the charity campaign One For The Boys. The campaign is intended to encourage men to discuss their health and get tested. In an interview with the Telegraph, Jackson explained he became interested in the charity after a friend of his British publicist, Sofia Davis, died of cancer.

Anna Karenina star Keira Knightley showed up to Chanel’s runway show at Paris Fashion Week wearing a Karl Lagerfield design, which appears to be the designer’s modern take on the classic Chanel suit, most famously worn by Jackie Kennedy. Rarely does one outfit cause so much hubbub, particularly one which, at the end of the day, really is just a dress suit. It’s not like this particular one was made entirely out of raw meat, as if anybody would ever wear anything like that...

The top of the suit was cropped to reveal a black panel between the top and the matching full midi-length skirt. The dress is one of Lagerfeld’s “illusion” designs, the dark panel covering Knightley’s midriff designed to create the appearance of a narrower torso by cinching in the waist. The problem lies with the fact that Keira’s frame is so naturally slight to begin with. Knightley is hardly a woman that benefits from her body being made to look any slimmer than it is, the effect being that the “illusion” concept behind the dress backfired. Instead, Keira was criticised for looking underweight and unhealthy in the dress and labeled a bad role model for young women in an age when they look to celebrities to define healthy body image.

The fifth Jack Ryan film to date, the cast and crew of the spy title gathered at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles for the film's premiere on Wednesday, 15 January, scrubbing up nicely for the glitzy event.

Pine rolled up to the premiere of the film looking sharp in a black, tie-less suit and sporting a cheeky bit of stubble, strolling down the red carpet to pose for photos with fans and answer some questions. Before the premiere, the actor and some of his film associates were on hand to discuss the film and its possible direction at a Paramount press conference (via Cinema Blend).

Keira Knightley’s wedding dress is the gift that keeps on giving – a gift to herself, mostly. Knightley rocked the frock (or at least something very similar) for a Paul Newman's SeriousFun London Gala on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The dress is definitely a great look for Knightley.

According to Us Weekly, it turns out it wasn’t the same dress after all, but style watchers would be forgiven for their mistake, since the actress has been known to love the tulle pixie look. She originally chose a very similar tulle and lace design by Rodarte for a pre-BAFTA party back in 2008, when she was dating actor Rupert Friend.

One Direction really do have everything after all. In a recently compiled list by Heat Magazine, the boy were revealed as the highest earning entertainment stars under-30's in the UK, with a combined worth of almost £60 million. Individually, the boys would be placed just outside the top ten, however when their wealth is combined they come out on top by a narrow margin.

Last years top spot holder, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, was ousted by the combined earning power of the mega-successful boy band, who have an estimated worth of over £12 million each. The boys were included to the list as a joint entity because most of their earnings have been made as a group, rather than through independent ventures. Narrowly missing out on reclaiming his top spot for a third time, Radcliffe came in second this year with £56.19 million. Something tells us that the Kill Your Darlings actor isn't losing too much sleep over being ousted from the top spot.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is the fifth Jack Ryan film to be released since Tom Clancy's fictional CIA badass first made the leap to the big screen in Hunt For Red October 23 years ago. The film was directed by Sir Kenneth Branagh and stars Chris Pine and Keira Knightley, with Branagh and Kevin Costner also appearing in the picture.

The film differs from past 'Ryan' outings, going back to the very beginnings of Ryan's career when he was a young CIA analyst trying to juggle his high octane profession and his marriage to Cathy (Knightley), who he met three years ago and who is completely oblivious to what he does for a living. Things take a turn for the unexpected with Ryan when he finds himself as the target in an assassin attempt, at which point he discovers a devious plot involving Russian terrorists to launch a major attack across the globe, invariably damaging various major cities in the world in a bid to destroy the US economy.

Master of the romantic comedy genre, Richard Curtis, who helped bring us some of Britain's best-loved romance films of the last three decades has said that he thinks upcoming film About Time will be his last.

The thrice BAFTA-winning, Oscar-nominated director has tole Empire magazine, as reported by The Independent, that "[About Time] probably will be the last film I will direct." The 56 year-old filmmaker admitted he himself wasn't sure why he wanted to bow out, saying "I don't know. Just a feeling...just a feeling. It feels like a summing-up to me. We'll see how things turn out."

Keira Knightley could be starring alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming biopic of Enigma codebreaker Alan Turing in an upcoming biopic on his life. Variety broke the news that the English rose is being courted by producers of the film, which is set to be titled The Imitation Game and is being financed by Black Bear Pictures and Amersand Pictures.

The script for the film has been in the works since 2011 and is believed to have been completed by now, with Headhunters director Morten Tyldum signed on to direct the film. The script is based on Andrew Hodges’ biography on the great mathematician, Alan Turing: The Enigma, with Graham Moore (Pirates vs. Ninjas) handling the screenplay for the movie. The film is still awaiting a distributor, however given the big name stars lined-up to star in the film it shouldn't take long for someone to pick it up.

A mathematical genius and one of the founders of modern computing, Turing was one of the chief scientists responsible for cracking the German 'Enigma Code' during the Second World War, an act that has been credited for shortening the war effort against the Nazis by up to two years. Despite his immense contribution to the war, which was kept secret until government papers were made public some 60-years after his exploits, he was prosecuted by the British services in the early 1950s for being homosexual. His achievements were kept secret from the public and his family and Turing committed suicide in 1954, yet despite ending his life at such a young age he had made such a massive contribution to the advances of computer science and modern mathematic that he is still revered by his peers today.

Director JOE WRIGHT is known for his skillful adaptations of literary classics like “Anna Karenina” and “Pride and Prejudice”, but he’s casting his gaze on an entirely different film this time, namely “50 Shades of Grey”. The news, first announced by Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, hasn’t been confirmed yet, but Wright is reportedly the frontrunner for the directorial seat on Focus Features and Universal’s latest project. Some other names reportedly in the mix are other members of the art house genre, such as Bennett Miller (“Capote,” “Moneyball”), Gus Van Sant ("Good Will Hunting," "Milk") and Patty Jenkins (“Monster”).

Additionally, Wright’s go-to lead actress, star of “Atonement” and “Anna Karenina”, Keira Knightly was also reportedly considered for the main part of clean-cut, virginal (initially) college student Anastacial Steele, who enters into a dishy relationship with billionaire Christian Grey. But, then again, so was almost every other actress in Hollywood. Mila Kunis, Kristen Stewart and Nina Dobrev are among the latest actresses rumored for the part. Meanwhile, Knightley has denied any engagement with the project whatsoever. From so many avid denials (Emma Watson, Knightley and a host of others have made it clear they were not interested) it doesn't seem like the project is faring too well. Perhaps with the highbrow director, "Fifty Shades" will have a chance to escape the mommy porn genre. 

Can Wright bring the prestige of Anna Karenina to 50 Shades? 

JOE WRIGHT is rumoured to direct the upcoming movie adaptation of E.L. James' best-selling erotica novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.

The director looks to be a firm choice for Focus and Universal who bought the rights to the trilogy in 2012, according to The Hollywood Reporter, as he has been at the helm of five award winning features linked to the production companies including the Oscar winning 'Anna Karenina' and 'Atonement', and the four-time Academy Award  nominee 'Pride & Prejudice'. Of course, this might also suggest that Keira Knightley may be up for the controversial role of Anastasia Steele given that she has been the female protagonist in all of those films and that she is no stranger to kinky characters having been subjected to erotic spanking in David Cronenberg's Freudian flick 'A Dangerous Method'. 

Although we know that 'Terra Nova' writer Kelly Marcel will be adapting the screenplay, there is actually no solid deal announced between Wright and Focus/Universal. Keira may also have objections to the role, having previously told MTV in regards to her next movie project, 'It's not going to be Fifty Shades of Grey. You know, I normally don't like to give a definite about anything, but I can definitely say it will not be Fifty Shades of Grey.'

Keira Knightley is among a host of stars due to star in a short film about the iconic fashion designer COCO CHANEL. The movie, is being created to mark the 100th anniversary of the French fashion house Chanel and will be directed by Karl Lagerfeld, the label’s current creative director, The Independent reports. Lagerfeld and Knightley share a mutual respect for each other and the designer often cites Keira as a muse.

The movie will be set on the French seaside town of Deauville, where the very first Chanel boutique opened up in 1913, after being financed by Captain Arthur Edward ‘Boy’ Capel. The crew were ordered to build “detailed retro sets” to recreate the era. The 27 year old actress is already a Chanel favourite, having fronted their Coco Mademoiselle perfume campaign, though the ad was pulled for being ‘overtly suggestive.’ She will be joined by Stella Tennant, Tallulah Harlech, Clotilde Hesme and Brad Kroenig in the promotional movie. It’s due to be screened at Chanel’s Cruise Show in Singapore.

Keira spoke about Lagerfeld last year, saying “Karl’s amazing. He’s an avid reader, and he speaks about five different languages, so he’ll be rattling off in English to you and in French to someone else, and in German to someone else and then the phone rings and he’s speaking Italian.”

A perfume advert featuring British actress Keira Knightley has been banned during children's television programming because it is deemed too sexually suggestive. Why fragrance giant Chanel is advertising its products during ad breaks for children's television remains to be seen, though the Advertising Standards Authority ruled that its commercial for the Coco Mademoiselle ad was unsuitable for younger viewers.

According to the BBC, the watchdog investigated after a complaint was made from a viewer who saw the ad during the film Ice Age 2. Chanel said a degree of sexual charge was common in its perfume ads, though the commercial in question shows Keira Knightley being photographed on a bed while a photographer unzips her clothes. She is then shown dressed only in a bed sheet and crawling towards him before lying down. A spokesperson for the Advertising Standards Authority said they decided it was unsuitable for children. "We therefore concluded that the ad was inappropriately scheduled and an ex-kids restriction should have been applied to prevent the ad from being broadcast in or around children's programming," they said.

The watchdog ruled that Chanel must not broadcast the Keira Knightley ad again around programmes of particular appeal to children.

Little has caused more contention in the contactmusic office than our recent discussion about the Christmas films list! Obviously, everyone has their own favourite, and to them that will always be the top of the list. One thing that became all too clear to us was that - with the exception of Elf & Bad Santa - there really hasn't been too many full blown Christmas films so we'd like to make a plea to Bill Murray and the other Hollywood greats - PLEASE make a new (top quality) Christmas film to join these festive favourites! 

I can't say we particularly advocate parents encouraging their offspring to watch films above their age certificate, but it appears we all grew up in houses that didn't really mind what we watched - and let's face it, some of the best Christmas films might have a few boobs or rowdy drunken behaviour... As children of the 80's and 90's, we're fully aware that there's original to some of these remakes, but as is always the way, these are the films we grew up with and as such, they are our favourites. 

Enough explanation, in no particular order here are the films we recommend you watch over the holidays!

We're still in 2012, but already talk of who will win what at next years Oscar ceremony is widespread across the web. One picture that isn't feeling the love so much is period picture Anna Karenina, which hits US cinemas today.

Keira Knightley's latest costume drama has received relatively wide-spread acclaim so far, but that doesn't mean that she or the film itself will be given so much as a how-do-you-do when the shortlist of the Academy Awards is announced early next year. In terms of Best Picture, both The Dark Knight Rises and Disney Pixar's Brave are placed above the Leo Tolstoy adaptation and we all know how well superhero and animated films perform at the Oscars. Argo is currently the bookie's favourite to take home the top gong, with Lincoln a close second.

As for Knightley and her chances of getting hold of a Best Actress award, things aren't looking too great there either. Jennifer Lawrence's turn in Silver Linings Playlist looks like everyone's favourite to pick up the award at only her second time of asking, with Sally Field (Lincoln), Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables) and Marion Cotillard (Rust and Bone) all placed above the Brit by bookmakers.

Keira Knightley starred in the off-the-wall adaptation of Tolstory novel Anna Karenina

There's been talk about it for months; just what has director JOE WRIGHT done to Tolstoy's literary classic Anna Karenina? Both cast and crew have promised a re-telling of the the tragic tale of Russian socialite Karenina's affair with Count Vronsky that veers away from previous adaptations, and from the reviews that have thus far come out that certainly seems to be what they've committed to. Our own Rich Cline wrote "the most impressive thing about this film is its astoundingly beautiful design: the sets, costumes, photography and music are sumptuous and lush, never fussy but always adding to the intensity of each scene. Look for it to deservedly hoover up Oscar nominations across the board." Others have also pointed out the design, which has moved the tale from its typically austere surroundings into something of an otherworldliness.

Keira Knightley, the British actress currently starring in JOE WRIGHT's big-screen adaptation of Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, admits she almost convinced herself that she was anorexic after a media storm over her weight. Knightley spoke in-depth about the matter during an interview with Allure magazine, which she also covers for November.

Despite regularly finding herself in the 'most beautiful' lists, the Oscar-nominated actress admits she isn't entirely comfortable with her body and admitted that rumors concerning her thin figure hit her "pretty hard," saying, "Because you go, oh, maybe that's right! I knew I wasn't anorexic, but maybe my body is somehow not right," she said. "When you're going through a period where you're really getting a lot of criticism, you go, maybe all this is right!" After becoming tabloid fodder for years, Knightley is notoriously private about her relationships these days. She's currently engaged to the Klaxons keyboardist James Righton though insists she's a little stuck as to how she's going to keep her wedding a secret from the media, "Maybe I'll be permanently engaged!" she joked.

The 27-year-old Londoner certainly doesn't have to worry about her career, having become one of the most sought after leading ladies in Hollywood. Though reviews of Anna Karenina have been lukewarm, critics agree on Knightley's assured performance. Richard Corliss of Time Magazine said "Knightley embodies Anna as a girlish woman who has never felt erotic love; once smitten, she is raised to heavenly ecstasy before tumbling into the abyss of shame." Knighley recently completed filming Can a Song Save Your Life? a comedy drama about a dejected music business executive who forms a bond with a young singer-songwriter. The mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg has been making sure that the city's residents were fully prepared for Hurricane Sandy, which hit New York last night. And whilst the majority of New York citizens paid heed, TV presenter David Letterman decided to pay heed instead to that age-old motto from the world of entertainment. "the show must go on!"

According to MTV, Letterman wasn't going to let a minor detail like the biggest storms to ever hit the USA stop him from filming one of his late night chat shows. He did, however, film the episode of The Late Show With David Letterman without the presence of his usual live audience. He may have been prepared to brave the elements to get the show filmed but he wasn't about to let the general public endanger themselves in the process. The same applied to Jimmy Fallon's show, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. 

Other shows weren't so lucky. Jimmy Kimmel was forced to cancel one of his tapings in Brooklyn, announcing on Twitter "Though it pains us to do it, JKL from Brooklyn tonight is cancelled. I'm disappointed too, but we want you to be safe." Over at Comedy Central, however, the laughter stopped for the night. Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart both cancelled the filming for their shows.

Keira Knightley hit the town in support of fashion powerhouse and personal friend Karl Lagerfeld as he unveiled Chanel's The Little Black Jacket exhibition in London on Thursday night (October 11, 2012).

Although not in a black jacket herself, the 27 year-old screen siren did keep up with the colour requirements by wearing a black brocade dress with a black handbag to go with it. The event itself was in aid of a book of the same name being released, which features celebrity models wearing the iconic fashion item. The book, a joint project between Lagerfeld and Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld, is a reinterpretation of one of Chanel's most iconic fashion items: the black jacket.

A few of the celebs that make an appearance include Claudia Schiffer, Uma Thurman, Kanye West, Tilda Swinton, Baptiste Giabiconi, Yoko Ono and Sarah Jessica Parker.
