Welsh singer Kelly Jones found it tough pouring over old Stereophonics material for their upcoming album re-issues - because it brought back memories of late former bandmate STUART CABLE.
The band is re-releasing 1997's Word Gets Around and Performance and Cocktails from 1999 and the four-piece has spent the last year compiling the albums and artwork.
But Jones struggled with the project after learning of Cable's untimely death this summer (10).
He says, "It's over 10 years since the first two albums were released. Listening back to them and all the b-sides and live tracks brought back a lot of memories. It's taken over a year to find and compile all the tracks, pictures and notebooks.
"Stuart's passing in June has made the whole experience more poignant."
Cable, who left the band in 2003, was found dead at his home in Wales in June (10).
